From what I hear lately, things might get better. The House has approved 100% of the state sporting-goods tax go directly to Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Historical Commission for courthouse restoration. Currently at this time, after Texas P&WL collects a certain amount of money, the rest goes to the state "general fund". So I hope this bill (HB 12)sticks. Many other state agencies are in this condition as well. If our leaders would keep money directed where it is supposed to go, this would not be so bad. I used to work for TDCJ on rover patrol. Everytime someone important came to our unit, I hoped the patrol truck's engine or transmission would fall out and the truck would box their newer vehicle in! But it was only a dream.

Rusk and Palestine need the state money so they can go back to funding their meths labs. Rusk courthouse bailiff busted for 12 years for making crystal. Same year Troup police chief sent away for 10 years. Sgt. Mark Turner sent for 3 years. Jacksonville cop in TDCJ for 12 years for aggravated sexual assault on ladies he pulled over in the middle of the night. Nobody in Rusk or Jacksonville ever did anything about it.
New Summerfield hires and fires a cop with no peace officer license.
According to the DOJ annual report, Cherokee County reports $0 zero dollars in seized assests from drug busts.
It makes you wonder whose getting paid to mix up the crank.
