I have lived in Waskom for 3 years. Ive never had any problems with any official. I had stopped in at the station for some directions and was given directions. If your obeying the law, you have nothing to worry about. Police officers have a job to do, so let them. To the lady who was speeding for a dr's appt, you should of left in plenty of time, or just have called the dr and said you would be a few minutes late. Stop complaining about your ticket, you were in the wrong. You must be one of those women who wants everything your way.

Is Waskom, TX so broke that they have to give out tickets for 80 in a 70? I have found no other place like this. Yesterday, while trying to get my child home to Louisiana for a doctor's appointment, I got stopped and ticketed. I was in disbelief. I tried to explain to the officer what was going on, but he continued writing. I plan on writing a letter to the judge with proof that my son was seen when we got back. Anyone think that will do any good? I guess I was the lucky one yesterday. Lord knows that everytime you come through Waskom, there is someone getting a ticket. In Louisiana, the AG is investigating these small town ticket writers.
I recently received a ticket in Waskom, Knowing I was innocent and since mu wife was a witness we went to court , the video not only showed me not stopping it showed me never slowing down .What was on the video never happened .I sure hope the Texas rangers investigate them .

I am a law abiding citizen who has sit on the Grand Jury both in Harris County and in Austin County . While making a brief stop in Waskom ,I received a ticket for running a stop sign , My wife was with me and we both knew I stopped so we went to court .The video showed me no only running through the stop sign but never slowing down .That video was wrong . I'm interested in knowing who and how could the video be altered , In court they did not show the computer version with time stamp ,but a copy .

Waskom would'nt be so broke if they would've passed the law to sell alcohol to keep revenue here, so the town could grow. Keep in mind it's less than a mile for the people of Waskom to go across state line and buy alochol to bring back into the town.

It looks like Waskom P.D. has had a facelift in the past year or so. A bunch of new faces patroling around, with the exception of that older gentleman who has been around for a long time. One of the newer faces isn't exactly new though, I remember him being either a Harrison County Deputy or Highway Patrol officer not too long ago.

1. In Waskom, Texas.. One can safely buy anything illegal, safely sell anything illegal, or even manage multi million dollar operations of any illegal activity one may wish to do (as long as it is generating money in Waskom - Waskom will NOT disrupt that cash flow).

2. Waskom Law Enforcement primarily enforces the law against activities that generate money for Waskom. Waskom will not disrupt any activities that costs Waskom money (generating a negative cash flow) and most especially if it simultaneously interferes with a cash generating business for the town itself, being Legal or Illegal does not matter to Waskom.

3. 1. and 2. are why Waskom is a serious hot spot for well managed illegal activity aka "Organized Crime". The signs are all over town. Grandpa can illegally snort, smoke, shoot and screw everything he wants - but if he's not managing that very business, his ass will get fined for driving 10 mph over the limit. 1+2=3
