If they knew about this for so long and let it continue, dont the authorities bear some culpability in the torture of these animals?

I believe that anyone who has ever had an animal cruelty charge should not be allowed to own an animal, ever again. Aparently they are irresponsible and not capable of taking care of another living thing. I hope that the horses and mule who do survive will be adopted to loving homes.

NO, Due process of Law must take place, and sometimes it's slow.

I agree Andy; But what a very very slow process- now look what has happened. Hope this guy stays in jail, & I pray that these horses go to loving homes to people that will actually take care of them. And I DO NOT agree with euthanizing those 3 horses- YOU CAN get them up to good health with the right care!!! I have done it before. I took in a malnourished 31 year old horse, and then got a vet out. I fed him 3 times a day at first, then he started gaining eight gradually, after 5-6 months he was up and running and he looks great! He is now 35 years old, I feed him once a day and he looks better then ever. So don't tell me that there is no hope for these horses, because there is, you just don't want to spend the extra money on grain and give a little love.

Anyone that mistreats an animal should have the same treatment rendered to them. Only the vilest of the vile can do something like this. I personally hope the SOB starves in jail.

Mother dearest has always taken care of dear Frankie. When she passed away he was lost.He didn't have anyone to protect him for his wrongdoing evil little childish ways. Both his parents were highly intelligent individuals with quite a great deal of pull in Marshall.Frankieboy used to walk around town like he was Mr.Studley.It was so funny. One would laugh their azz off the way he would prance around.Playing pocket pool with his keys.I always felt sorry for his mom that her son turned out to stupidly.

I firmly believe that people who are cruel to animals and children will rot in Hell.

Why on EARTH did these animals not get seized sooner??? especially if as stated they have a history of issues with this man. the prolonged suffering and even death of these animals may be a shortfall of our sysstem that fails to protect. It takes quite a while to starve a horse to those conditions,,,sigh

Lets hope your belief is true. I cannot imagine letting something/anything starve, that is about the lowest of the low.

What?? Anyways, spoke with the Animal Shelter, and now I know the real facts on why they had to put the 3 horses down. It's because all of their hearts were failing, and a lot of other different internal things were failing, that could not be fixed because the horses were so old (above 35) and malnourished. They also had extreme external damages to the outside of their bodies too.
Really sad, I hope this guy rots in jail.

Someone needs to wire this mans mouth shut and then set a T-Bone in front of him! I will starve before I would let one of my animals go hungry!

i think the system has taken care of him in the past by what the previous court records say, the only charge found guilty on letting his animals run loose,I think they let him slide on cruelty charges, and now this is what happens, ever who let the animal cruelty charges slid before, should be questioned as how did they find him not guilty.........where is PETA
