Great and interesting article. After living for years at La Salle-Peru and observing the painstaking time of boats going through Starved Rock Lock, I always wondered
how these boaters could have so much patience. I still do.
And good to hear about Lyle Dean. Always recall Bob Collins comments about going out on the "Good Ship Lyle Dean."

Have made this trip MANY times, and have always wanted to write about it. Well Lyle, you beat me to it, and did a VERY good job. Will look for the Heidi Ho, in our travels.
