Classic: Stick a gun in someone's face and rob them: walk on 1k unsecured bond.

Damage a friggin dress trying to shoplift: ooh, better slap her with 3 grand for bond.

The DA's office has seriousl problems that are damaging public safety.

NO friggin' doubt! When the magistrate sets a 1K unsecured bond for shoving a gun in someones face that is truly the real crime!!!! The DA/Magistrate's office needs some serious upheaval!

try to rob me at gunpoint and you'll get a bullet in the face.

no bond will be needed, no written promises to appear in court, just a one way ticket to the funeral home.

this is the only way this escalating scumbagery should be handeled. the more these parasites are killed by armed and trained citizenns the safer we'll all be.....remember.... the police can't help you and the courts won't (this story is more evidence of this).

I was robbed at gunpoint a few years ago on Merrimon Avenue late at night. After being forced by the robber to turn around and walk the other direction (away from my house), I found a police officer and flagged him down about a block away only a couple of minutes later. I quickly explained that I had been robbed at gunpoint and we could catch the guy if we started looking for him IMMEDIATELY. To my utter disbelief and shock, the officer insisted on filling out an incident report (took about 10-15 mins) BEFORE we went and searched for the guy. Needless to say, he was nowhere to be found and is probably still robbing others at gunpoint.

absoulutly rediculous....paperwork paperwork. thats what they spend important time on....every min. counts when something like this happens. do you suppose if a bank was robbed they would make the bank fill out an incident report before they started looking for the robber....I don't think so...tell me, what is the difference?

Outrageous is he out on bail at ANY price. Lucky he did not have any weed with him or they would have locked him up for good!

The young man I knew a few years ago would have never done this...I heard things had spun outta control in his life. It is so sad the life some people choose to live. In my heart I still see that young boy that was so polite & sweet, I am praying that this is a wake up call for him & he realizes the path he is going before he hurts or kills someone. The bail was set way too low tho.

Just the facts...sounds like another potential case for the "armed citizen", self defense.... is just that. Also I feel the magistrates in this town need a printed schedule of appropriate bail amounts that fit the crime. 1K for armed robbery? Absurd to say the very least!!!!
