[Planet Beach Franchisee]

Warning - DO NOT BECOME A PLANET BEACH Tanning Spa franchisee.
They took my $30,000 franchise fee under false pretense. The company breeched their contract with me, then refused to refund my fee. The CEO refused to even respond to me. Apparently, they think that because they a large company, they don't have to do what is morally & ethically right.
The company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. They have had numerous unresolved complaints.

seems more of a cult than a company- don't work for a location either unless you want your paychecks to bounce, then be told its your fault.

I had to cancel my membership and went in and signed the document ending the membership. Now they claim I never signed a document and can't find and I'm still being charged. DON'T patronize any Planet Beach.

I was a member and other planet beaches would not let me tan and I am a member, they put each other down how bad the other planets beaches are, it is crazy!! only 2 locations I have been to were actually nice and I liked the beds they were new
and other planet beaches put them down, whats up they are a cult!!

JPR is a corporate employee. The company does suck! I'm a franchisee so I speak from experience. it's the worst business decision I ever made. All this company wants to do is invent new ways to get in your pocket. Currently in the process of trying to steal another 199.00 per mo from us under the guise of increased technology. Do not do business with Planet Beach!!

The ones complaining are right. PB is a rip off because of them I'm out of business. I got no support, no help of any kind. they just said keep giving away free services. It's true only about 27 of the 300 plus stores make any money. Do not buy a franchise from P B

Stay far away. Huge rip-off and no support. JPR is an overpaid "as he puts it consultant", who reads lots of books written by other people and regurgitates whats he's read and then patronizes it as his own. They nickle and dime you on EVERYTHING to the point its impossible to be profitabel.

I think it is more funny that people have all these websites that they can express their feelings because this is suppose to be a free county that you can do that, but then the minute someone post something one person disagrees with everyone goes nuts... whats the point of it? I mean NO ONE IS PERFECT AND NO ONE IS ALWAYS GOING TO AGREE WITH EVERYONE ABOUT EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME.... Thats the facts so and we all know that so just give it up! I too am from Canada and I am having major problems with Planet Beach. I cancelled my membership months ago and am still being charged. Every time I go in to try and get my money back they tell me that there is only one person who can do refunds and - guess what - she is never there! The people working there always tell me that they have called the owner and left messages and that the owner will call me back. That has yet to happen and I continue to be charged. Not everyone in Canada loves Planet Beach.

All you have to do is stop payment on the automatic draft. They may say they will send you to collections but in my 7 years of having worked there they never had any type of collections service. After they have to pay returned check fees they will cancel you out of their system. Hope this helps.
