then you yourself must not go to the races at berlin..there are drunks at berlin that fall down the stairs on the bleachers knocking kids down as they are rolling down the stairs. they sit in the bleachers with families and swear and drink their $1 beers that they have bought. so dont act like you know all about the races at berlin. if its college night you get all the college kids that think they can handel the beers they are drinking and fall and puke and cuss.. they see they are sitting around families can continue to act the way they do. i had to help a girl one year that was so drunk, she was on the top bleacher in turn 4 and fell and smacked her head on the short cement block wall below, she was a mess, and the races hadnt even started. i seen a mom and dad both drinking with their kids, their 2 year old daughter falls through the bleachers about half way up, they couldnt get down there fast enough cause they where drunk. so how was the poster looking to deep into beer being brought into berlin? you have no clue.

You are looking way far into this...but if you know anything about racing (which I am assuming you do) you know that the sterotype is that beer and racing go hand in hand. Bad or good, I'm not to judge but NASCAR gets what we are all trying to say. That's why you can bring soft side coolers into the BIG tracks. We are just saying that going racin' on a Saturday night is a lot more expensive if you have to buy their beer/alcohol. Would be nice to bring your own in, that's all. Doubt any of us that posted have the intentions of getting fall down, fighting drunk. Come on, now.

Where did I get the dea that the owners of the track were Michigan Adventure and Johnny Benson? I didn't know that the Whitecaps organization had anything to do with Berlin Raceway.
This is interesting considering I know at 1 point Johnny Benson was co-owner of the track. Wheather he co-owns it now or not I'm not sure. If that's the case, maybe the people who are selling are selling their share. I'm not sure on any of that though. You guys know more about this than I do.

If this is as good as you guys say it is, it should be fun for you guys!

We"ll here we go ,it comes down to the beer thing,,,some of us only have saturday night ,,(IF WE DO) do have a beer and injoy our self if we have a six pack brought with us ,,between 2 of us,,we are not all drunks,,some of us,think about other people and respect others,,,as you can see people still get loaded there no matter if the have to buy it or not,,you have that everywhere!!I think the whole point is,,BERLIN NEEDS TO GET BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE,,BLACKMER HOPEFULLY WILL GET IT BACK TO SAME RULE FOR ALL DRIVERS,,NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAVE,,,that is the biggest thing,,thats why alot of our late models and other went to kzoo,,it needs to be straight across the board,,all equal...The police do a good job and have for years watching for drunks leaving and while at the track,,again you have that anywhere,,college kids are the worst,,like you said there loaded before they get there...WELL, WE WILL BE THERE FOR BOYNE WEEKEND AND HAVE A GREAT TIME,,RELAX AND COME ON OUT!!!!

You don't know me, and sweetheart...I have a clue. I have been there more times than I can count - for years and years, since I was little. I have been to many NASCAR races throughout the country as well. By the track NOT allowing you to bring in beer, doesn't prevent idiots like that from getting drunk. And as for college night anywhere, your going to have a few young people smashed beyond oblivion beacause they are young and silly. Ever been to a college football game - anywhere? Ok then, good try on that though. Realize this darlin... if people have tendancy to drink to that extent they will drink any beer at any price. This isn't what any of us posting about the cooler meant, and if you read my post you will notice I mentioned that specifically. It's not as if the moments you spoke of ONLY happened when you could bring in your own beer. Your point is mute.

I started attending the races when Gordy (my neighbor)and Bruce Vanderlaan were racing. It was great! It's just gotten too expensive to attend receintly. I don't drink much anymore but I still think that it's part of the whole racing experience to bring in a cooler and have a beer or two. It kind of went downhill when the Whitecaps took over and made it a little TOO "foo foo" family. The police do a wonderful job at keeping things under control. I hope things somewhat return to what they were. Perhaps I'm wearing rose colored glasses.

People weren't happy when Chet owned/ran the track and once the Whitecaps took it over, everyone looked Chet. Now that Blackmer is taking it over, I'm going to assume that everyone will want the Whitecaps back. People aren't going to be happy with whoever runs the place. Everyone is so negative.
I've been going for the last 4 years and have found no problems with the place or how it is run. I feel there are a lot of whiney racers out there that like to complain about everything and anything. If they were out there to truly race and have fun then they'd be happy and they aren't and I don't think that anyone can blame the Whitecaps for that.

Didn't you all see that the Whitecap's are still going to manage the concession area and such? Doubt you'll be able to bring the coolers in, even with new management. Bummer, I agree.
You can bring in your own cooler now, just not beer in it but water and soda is allowed.
