Has anyone been following this? Everyone knows about Dorner the former cop who is on a rampage but this particluar incident?

---Hernandez, 71, remained hospitalized in the intensive care unit on Friday, recovering from two bullet wounds, said her attorney Glen T. Jonas. Carranza had minor injuries related to shattered glass and a wounded finger.

Two blocks away from where the women were shot, officers opened fire on a 38-year-old man driving to the beach to go surfing, according to his lawyer. No one was injured in the second shooting, which happened about 25 minutes after the first.

The attorney for the women, Glen T. Jonas said he was shocked. He said neither the size of the women nor the blue Toyota Tundra truck they were in matched the description of Dorner's Nissan Titan.

"There were two women there. They are not black. They are not large. They were not in a car that matched. No danger was presented to the officers," Jonas said. "It was such a mismatched identification."

The officers were placed on paid administrative leave, the LAPD said on Friday. The officers, who were not named, must see a department psychologist before they are allowed to return to patrol, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman----

These guys should lose their badges and not only that, they should lose the right to carry a firearm.

Make that 2 instances of cops firing on the wrong people. The guy is already planning to sue. Cops say "no one was hurt in the shooting". The guys back and shoulder are messed up from police ramming his vehicle.

"Torrance police were involved in a second shooting near Flager Lane and Beryl Street a short time later. The incident involved a black truck they mistakenly believed to be Dorner's. The patrol unit, occupied by two officers, encountered the truck, collided with the vehicle, and an officer-involved shooting occured. No one was hurt in the shooting.

No information on what prompted the gunfire was released.

Sgt. Chris Roosen of the Torrance Police Department did, however, say there were reports released that Dorner was in the area.

"There was a broadcast that we believe he was on the 105 Freeway and off at Sepulveda so we believe that yes, he was coming to this area," Roosen said."

That is unforgivable, how they reacted to those women, and the truck was a different color than the real suspects. It will likely cost the city several million dollars.....

Over zeoulas police in action. While, I agree that the man they are looking for is dangerous, he has been laying really low, or maybe he killed himself. However, for the police to be over ambitous is unforgivable to the innocents.

Pretty easy to see that the cops out there are scared to death and are willing to shoot at anything in an effort to save their own hides.

Maybe these cops will get new jobs....... As armed guards in our schools!

Agreed, but it is always the minority that gets the press and gives the majority a bad rap......

Sort of like members of the Tea Party who ruined the Republicans!
