Yea .... sure, kid quack. Because putting a bootheel on businesses, printing a crap-ton of money, and implementing one of the worst pieces of legislation in American history, Obamacare, which absolutely froze hiring for 4 years, has been such a great thing for our economy.

Hope you like your next 30 hour a week "full time" job, pal.

Your definition of "going again" is rather vague, unless of course you subscribe to the "new normal" that many progessives seem to like. 7.6% unemployment,$3.99/gallon gas prices, higher prices for everything you buy. Yeah, "economy going again."

STOCKS RISE ON BERNANKE PUSH...AP(7-18-13)...Soothing words from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke pushed stocks to slim gains Wednesday. Higher earnings for several major companies also helped. Bernanke said the U.S. central bank had no firm timetable for trimming bond purchases.......

Dave Bing was a great Detroit Piston but the City of Detroit was too far gone for him to rally it.
Let's hope the US takes a lesson from Detroit.
Basically the creepy white crackahs left town and turned it over to the Democratic welfare recipients to run. LOL

Detroit is the arm pit of Michigan. When you have all takers and no makers, things are bound to go sour.

According to the Detroit News, the city has somewhere between $17 -$20 Billion dollars of long term debt.

Just wondering how much the total tax breaks given to businesses that failed to live up to their promises for those tax breaks comes to.

When your city is a rat hole, it takes some incentives to attract business I guess. In addition to businesses not living up to promises I believe there was a little corruption, mismanagement etc. I suppose your solution would be to legalize street drugs, tax them, and with the volume of business being done in MO Town they'd be climbing out of debt in no time. The only problem is we'd have to subsidize the drug users because they can't work to earn enough to buy them.

“I wasn’t going to let Detroit go bankrupt. Or Toledo go bankrupt. Or Lordstown go bankrupt. I bet on American workers,” Obama said in the final sprint to November’s election.

Oh, you've got to go back three republican presidents to find one who didn't totally screw up this country financially. And even that's debatable since we are still paying for Ronny's deregulation to this day.

Try looking at their pension obligations Bob. The news tonight said Detroit has $18 BILLION in debt, the bulk of which is pension obligations. I love the judge who said the bankruptcy violated Michigan's constitution. Apparently this judge is clueless about bankruptcy being a FEDERAL matter which overrules the state each and every time.

Well I guess if you feel things like actual FACT'S don't matter. Democrats controlled congress during that period of time and were warned several times about the housing bubble several times by the Republicans for years and refused to do anything.
