While teabagger pundits tried to keep everyone's attention on the FAUX Outrage over just another in a long string of attacks on US embassies and consulates, House Republicans voted in favor of a bill that would strip overtime pay for average American workers.

Yup...typical lib. You only care about the $$ and not about parents being actually be able to spend time with and raise their kids. Why do you all hate families so much? BTW...you don't read your own links. The bill would offer the OPTION of comp time versus OT pay. Again...why do you all hate families? |

Wonder what all these hearings, with those that weren't even in Benghazi, are gonna cost us......especially since Paul Ryan and House republican's have cut funding for both service dogs for our returning vets.....and, the Meals On Wheels program, which delivered meals to disabled veterans, handicapped and elderly shutins....... |

Busy brown nosing the Chamber again? This bill had NOTHING to do with people having more time with their families, as it only dealt with how a person gets paid for the hours they have to work. |

His/her claim that they only post at lunch hour from work actually leaves room for an abundance of speculation as to why... No computer at home?? No internet at home?? Deniability factor, posting from a public pc so as to hope to not be traced?? Mommy won't let him/her use the family pc for Topix?? Add-on what ever you wish... |

So you don't think the idea of giving people the choice of taking comp time instead of overtime pay is a good one? I know there are times I would have opted for the comp time to be able to spend more time with my kids or attend an event I otherwise wouldn't have been able to due to lack of time off available. |

I was really hoping they would change their methods, after the election when many....Bobby Jendal, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio even, were speaking about trying to move the party more toward the center....wonder how we would do without any party system? As it is, it remains too much, us againest them....often whether either side is right or wrong, like childish games, but they aren't...... |

Gotcha; no choice is better than having a choice? Or is is just that you wouldn't like who you have to thank for having the choice? Personally, if I'm working the overtime, I like the idea of having a choice in how I'm compensated for it. It's the unions that have so many manipulated into believing that only overtime pay is valid compensation. |

There are many small businesses that would be able to offer the time off verses the $$ if it was allowed by law. Of course, the progressives on here are totally clueless that business goes against the law sometimes anyway. It's all about "the appearance" of caring rather than the actual caring. We have to remember, it's not the actions, it's always the intentions with the progressives. Do as they say, not as they do. yeah. |

if you take that comp time then don't complain that you don't make enough money. I don't get overtime anymore but my last job it was $30.00 an hour I would sometimes work 10 to 15 hours add it up of course I did get close to eight weeks vacation with floating holidays. My point is it should not be some law with amendments and rules and regulations. Just ask your boss for a day off.
