Tragic. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

As for the employer, this is a training and safety issue. I have seen videos that illustrate what you are supposed to do in this exact situation, and it sounds like this man never got this type of training.

For your information... Scott owned this company, so know the facts before you spout off.

I wouldn't say the person whose post you were responding to was "spouting off". They brought up a legitimate point that may make companies think about employee training/safety education. Just because someone owns their own business obviously doesn't mean they know all they need to about safety or don't make mistakes. My heart goes out to his family and co-workers, and "someone"-take a chill pill.

This is a solemn reminder that if you are in a vehicle that comes into contact with power lines, call for help and do not get out of the vehicle. Wait until the utility company gives the OK to you.

Prayers to Scott's family.

My sincere apologies if I offended. I never like to see this type of accident, or any for that matter.

Prayers to Scott's family.
The other thing you can do if you must exit is to jump as far as you can from the equipment with your feet together (so the current can't travel between them) and hop with large hops away from the vehicle.

Don't judge something that you don't know the facts to. He was not trying to get back into the truck. This story is not complete and you all still find time to put your 2 cents in.

Don't make him sound careless, he wasn't. I knew him, you did not.
