I sure am feeling the effects of your so-called down turn....

From the article:
"Unlike some past years, West Michigan auto suppliers are scheduling almost no “down time” for model changeovers by auto makers, Long said. One exception is suppliers to General Motors, which shut down for a few weeks to help dealers reduce their inventories, he said."

Our company relies on that down time so we can perform preventative maintenance on many of our customer's machines, and not just in Michigan.

It must be Obama's fault that I've lost billable hours!

Yup, the two companies I was supposed to be visiting this week are both suppliers for Ford and they are both still running at full volume with no seasonal layoffs.

Sadly, certain people on these forums will see this as bad news!

Spoken like a true Chamber member......

Bond holders should have known there was a risk in their investments, and dealerships weren't provided with the guarantees that legitimate union employees had bargained for. As far as I know, the government has sold a portion of the stocks they got in the bailout deal. Whatever they sold them for, the government would have lost a lot more had they failed to invest in those companies in the first place.

A curious situation....i guess we, as a whole should just be proud of any U.S. Manufacturing strength....and it should spread...Road and Track just named, Dodge's Ram as Truck of the Year...Damn good year for Trucks, eh?....much of it, evidently tied into new home construction.......Had a Ford SuperVan in 74....only truck i ever had.....

This nation has Contract Laws....... Bond holders get paid first but instead the O stole it and gave to the Unions.... Plain and simple.....
