This must be an awfully BIG machine!

Does it need a fountain in the lobby too?

Maybe if they had the best diagnostic equipment (like St. Lukes has), they wouldn't need to treat cancer as agressively. Early detection is key to early cure- Proton therapy is not. And anyone who is misguided enough to think that Lehigh Valley Hospital is "clearly the best", clearly needs some serious help.

Ok, for whatever reasons, you truly, believe that St. Luke's is the best. You, will also find many that have their Drs., and have had their treatment at LVHC,and have had good results because of it. Unfortunately, I have lost 3 friends, that had cancer, that had St. Luke's Drs., and received their treatment through them.
I currently have 2 friends that are still alive, Thank God, that have St. Luke's Drs., and have had complications as a result of surgery, neccessary, for the treatment of their cancer. My cancer was diagnosed by a small town gastroenterologist. I then chose a specialist in the field for my cancer surgery. The Dr. I chose has many years experience, and is a top Dr. in his field. I was very fortunate not to have had any complications after my surgery. I received the best treatment possible. My surgeon, cancer Dr., and radiologist were all at LVHC. It has been over 6 years since my diagnosis, and surgery. I am glad to be in remission, and thankful to still be here. If, I would need further treatment in the future, I would definitely go to LVHC, again. So, I guess it is up to each individual patient, who they choose to go to, and recieve treatment from. I miss my friends very much, and I know what they went through. I don't believe that they received the best treatment.

LV SUX, I was a patient a LV Hospital and can tell you I got the best treatment I have ever received.

Your anaolgy does not make any sense. Many cancer patients go symptom free until a problem develops. LVH has MRI, Cat Scans, etc. as do many other hospitals.

Okay, so allow me to get this right. Your alive because the LVH doctors are great and your friend is dead and the other two had complications because the St. Lukes Drs. suck, right? I guess it couldn't have had anything to do with the various types, survival rates and staging when diagnosed of the cancers right?

3 of my friends are dead. One of my friends went into surgery for what her Dr. told her was a hernia. Wrong, she had a cancerous tumor. She had various treatments over 7 years, before she passed away. They told her they were sending her to Phila. for treatment, but then they told her she was too weak to go, and passed away shortly after that. All 3 had different types of cancer. I saw how they were treated by their Drs., and were often blown off when they called about pain, or a problem they were having. I feel that I received better treatment by my Drs. then what they did. I had less than a 50 % chance of surviving 5 years. I am pleased with the Drs. I had, and the treatment I received.

It all comes down to how you're treated at ANY hopsital. Early detection is the first line, but modern, effective treatment is also a factor.
