Why is Nancy Hullinger cleaning City Hall? Where was the public bidding process? How much is she being paid? Was the purchasing policy circumvented? Who gave her the job? Why was the previous contract cancelled and awareded to her?

Is she a contractor or an employee? Did the council approve this new contract or did they approve the hiring of a new employee? You just can never get certain folks too far away from city government!!

Wonder what circumstances would lead to hiring a former alderman/City Crossing guard to clean city hall at this time! She is the former 5th Ward Alderman correct? Smells fishy to this nose, but what else can we look to the open and transparent government folks to do that surprises us anymore? I would say NOTHING! How many other folks out of work in the community would have been willing and able to do the same cleaning process, just post the job, I bet the answer would surprise us all!

Since she was part of the gang that overspent and approved multiple tax increases for almost every possible utitility and overwhelmingly supported Gordon, Kuspa, and Mallecky, not to mention the Gateway project, I see this a a fitting end to her career. I look forward to dumping in the city hall toilets and forgetting to flush for years to come.

Heard her hubby's business in in the toilet, too!

But does she live in the city? Lets not take the spotlight away from where it needs to be.

Been told she is employee not contractor. Budget calls it a contract job. Would have thought the city council decides on adding positions to authorized work force for city. Mr. Ishler addressed the subject a couple of meetings ago at the end of old business. Said previous contractor there 5 yrs. and we were having problems. Situation handled shortly thereafter, I assume by Mr. Ishler. Don't forget she had endorsed his city employment of him previously as alderman. Voters put her out also but Mayor must have decided she needed to return to city hall for some reason. Story sound familiar?

Not everything needs to be bid, you are aware of that aren't you? Are you sure this was never discussed? So any former aldermen are not allowed to start a business and work with the City?

We are going to advocate not using Oak Forest's own small business owners now?

What bearing on anything does her husband have on this? So he is a business owner too? What small business isn't in the toilet these days?

I'm not saying I agree with any of this, just pointing out some flaws I see in your statement. Seems your problem is with Hullinger.

Budget probably does reference a contract, because that's what it was. When was the budget completed? Did this change happen afterwards?

Question I have is, is she bonded? You would think someone working for the City in that capacity would have to be. That may depend on if she is an employee or an independent contractor. She may just be saving the City some money. Does anyone know that?

Hullinger was going to run for scot burkhardts job in the next election. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

She better make sure the mayors crapper is clean before she announces her bid for reelection. Plus, her academic background perfectly suits her for cleaning floors. I say she's peaked career wise.

That comes as a surprise to me, seeing that she is running for District 142 school board again. She will be one busy woman!

Who is saying she is running for the District 142? What is the big deal about Nancy Hullinger running for this or any other position? She is cleaning the City Hall complex and it would be best to see what is the reason that she was the go to person for this job! How many other folks would have liked to do that job if it was posted? Whatever issues you have with this woman, if this is another act of cronyism as we see in Oak Forest all the time, then it should stated that way! It would not be the first time it was done for a political reason, and will not be the last time!

Sure she is now that they PERSUADED her not to run against Scott. Hence the job at city hall.

And the present non resident alderman In the 5th didn't vote for every tax increase? Thank him when you pay your extra penny sales tax.

You people really are a trip. So she was that much of a threat to Scott that they gave her a job? That says a lot about what the administration thinks of Scott now doesn't it.

Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that she also cleaned the school where our Mayor was a board member and they knew of her work ethic now could it?

Scott Burkhardt has been un-opposed the last few elections! I would have loved to see some even Ms. Hullinger the cleaning guru run to see how it would go! This lady is still a city crossing guard and it would not surprise me if she ran again in District 142 or for any future city spots! Not sure I would vote for her in these position, since she has lived on the public dime foir a while! If she is willing to do it and put in the time, more power to her!!

As for Mr. Burkhardt, he should have someone run against him, the salary and benefits for the clerk/collector's job is one of the highest in the city budget! When did he become the collector and what is he collecting? I would really like someone to explain that position to the rest of us! Probably would save the city $80,000 if they downsized that position, but why would they cut costs in a city this size?
