I see the proposed motorcycle dealer said hasta la vista and went to Oak Forest. So now I guess our village administrator will talk to Dollar Tree AGAIN. I wish someone will explain where he has earned his 100+k pay. Results would be appreciated. Just hearing the mayor praise him like he is the second coming of Warren Buffett is like huh. I just keep waiting for some results.

He makes closers on the Cubs look like all stars. So we will keep waiting and waiting. Well there is a new sign up on the old Chevy property saying it is available. I think that fact would be known with it being empty for years. So I guess baby steps.

The Village had to enter into a Labor Union contract before any work erecting the sign could take place. Union Pride LOL !!!

Midlo Resident I heard that too. I didn't get the specifics, but it sounded like more than one thing caused them to go for the old hardware store in Oak Forest over us. Damn shame.

I was at last weeks open meeting when this was announced to the residents. The mayor also stated that he asked Mr. McGrath if we could sue the owner for breech of contract McGrath told him it would not be a good idea to do that, he also stated that it would probably cause tension with Oak Forest.

The Dollar Tree issue has been going on for the past almost 2 years. Mr Lang seems to be able to put on a good show with NO positive items to show.

HOPEFULLY ON April 9th the residents will get a new mayor & clerk.

I was not sure what the background was. But I heard at the committee meeting 2 weeks ago the Mayor said he thought the bike dealer would likely not be going in there. Then he said it was probably a good thing. There was something about dealings with the owner of Family Pride property. And thank you for not creating any tension with Oak Forest I could not live with that. I know I did not see it as a good thing (it possibly staying vacant). That is why we are not in charge.

So question. How many new businesses have opened in our town since we put our administrator on the payroll? Just wondering.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience but I have. I said that I didn't believe things could get any worse and then I was shown how much worse they could get. I have seen the question asked about what plans sharon had to get businesses in here. She should go out now and get promises from businesses committing to come here if she's elected. But I haven't seen any response. Let her go to the motorcycle shop owner and talk with him. Maybe she can get him to hold on until she's elected and then come in here. If she publishes that I'll vote for her. I don't really want to hear any more campaign promises that can't be kept. If she has the ability she should use it now. What is she waiting for? Does she only want to help Midlothian if she wins the election?
Last time we voted because we hoped... I want to vote this time because of some proof.

I have a feeling the Motorcycle business left more because of the buildings owner and the Family Pride building needed its asbestos removed for renovations to take place (assuming some old floor tile and piping needed to be removed which is expensive). At a village meeting several weeks ago it was stated they had to remove that for the building to be ready for the motorcycle business. I hope there isn't asbestos because someone had several guys in there gutting the place and they threw it into an open dumpster. Nothing seems to be really left in either portion of the building. Also, that owner blew it when Family Pride wanted to buy the building several years ago. What other buildings does this person own in Midlothian?

If what I had heard is correct the motorcycle shop that is being discussed is Airport Honda. There you go Sharon. Now not only are we waiting for you to tell us about the businesses you have lined up but you have a head start over the present administration. You don't have to go out and find interested parties, you have one on your plate. Show us how you can fix all the problems the present administration can't fix. You could then put on your campaign signs that you're like JD Wentworth and you can help us NOW.

Unfortunatly I hate to tell you, but we're never going to be able to get any type of big business here. The fault starts with the founders of Midlothian. All they wanted was a small "bedroom' community and made no plans for locating bussiness. They gave away land to Oak Forest and Crestwood that could have been used.
Moving to present times, usefull land that could have been used along 147th street, they built houses. Land on Pulaski, they built Dist 143 Administration. Then you have te owner of Family Pride, they would rather pay the taxes then sell the property. One of the Chrylser properties properties could have been sold years age. Ford wanted to buy it and put in another car lot but they wouldn't sell it because they were the comptition.
As for as Sharon, NO ONE is going to make a commitment to someone that has no power to make a deal.

I disagree, she has the power to negotiate on the promise that if she gets in she will have the power to come through with what she says she can do for the new business owner. Why would she not try. She has nothing to lose by trying. If she gets a commitment she will certainly get votes. If not it's just more smoke. If she can't do it and all the other excuses in the above statement are valid it's hard to put all the blame for the loss of businesses and the inability to get new businesses on the current administration. And I agree with cannot get any worse, we may actually find out how much worse it could get.

It seems to me that she has just as much ability to talk to businesses about what she will do if elected as has the ability to talk to us in Midlo about what she will do if elected. I'd love to see someone say they have some serious proof that they have what it takes to make things better.
At this point surely Terry is promising businesses anything up to and including one of his kidneys if they will just open a business here before election. It's something that should be taken seriously by both sides right now,and if Sharon isn't doing anything to address this she doesn't deserve anyone's vote. Screw promises of what might happen if elected. Been there. You want my vote prove something to me first.

+*Terry hired James Lang to bring new business's to the village. Looking through the village it appears that we are loosing business's instead. Why are the resident's letting this happen ?

Lang and Terry keep saying that the Dollar store is coming, 2 years later it still has not happened. The only thing that has happened is we lost a couple of business's

The closing of 7-11 and Krispy Kreme were Corporate decisions. KK expanded too fast and the Stock holders weren't making the money they wanted because of the Stock going down and 7-11 has very high standards for the Franchisee' and they weren't living up to the expectations of the Corp. office. Just one of the reasons.

no Taser, I don't get my info from the Village rag. I've been in the Industry for 45 years and in various forms of management during that time and read the trade papers on things like that. For one, ask any say, McD's owner what they have to do to get a Franchise or actually any owner of a major Franchise and see what they say. They have a certain standard they have to follow and certain procedures. These Parent companies do monitor what is being done.Remember, it's thier name you are representing so to speak. As far as KK surging, again, a matter of making money for the Parent company. Now, my question to you? Are you the same "taser" that posts in Crestwood and would brag how you were on the PD and sit by KFC sucking the marrow out of Chicken Bones and they closed after you moved to Orland Hills? Have a good day my friend.
