I think the judge that made this sentence should be thrown in jail. If a grown woman comitted a crime like that would be charged with murder regardless of what she said. What has this world come to that a 16 year old girl could murder her newborn baby and get away with it. On top of that get community service at a daycare. So in other word she just murdered her own baby let put her around other peoples children. I feel it takes a sick person to murder somebody and it take sick people to let them get away with it. It girl is sick and I would never put my child in the daycare she is at and hopefully they are letting the parent of this daycare know. I think the system has failed us in this case. My god be with that poor helpless baby.

I am repulsed. What a sick b!tch. I have a newborn and I feel for that innocent and helpless child. I can't believe someone could ever do something like that. What would make her do that? She doesn't deserve to live, and why the fuck is her punishment community service at a day care? They are just putting other children in danger.

My daughter pushed a girl and got probation community service and has to go to anger manage ment she has never been in trouble in her whole life. This is just ignorance of the law. she should have alot more than what she got. She needs alot of counceling and more than just probation i can't belive this what is this world comming to and these kids are our future. if thats the case we don't have much future to look forward to also her mom could not tell her child was with child. I just do not get it. She is 16 and needs to do the time she did the crime so do the time. this is really sad.

Some parents put such guilt on kids about becoming pregnant that they end up doing the most horrific things to cover a mistake. I do not agree with the sentence, and definitely would not put her in a daycare. But I do think she just panicked.

She was most likely 14 at the time. I wonder what her home life was. RIP to the poor baby. She should get more community service at the least.

She may have panicked, but, you must admit, she knew right from wrong at her age, whether it be 14, 16, or 25, they know KILLING is wrong! And since she was enrolled in a school, they require a yearly physical, the doctor didn't pick it up? The Mom? The Friends? Nobody knew she was pregnant? And think about it, she knew she could get pregnant if she had sex, given all the sex education from the young age children are taught. She knew her mom's feelings on getting pregnant. She knew about birth control from sex education. She knew what she was doing could get her pregnant. And something else, think back to when you were her age. What was the best way to get out of the house? Get pregnant and the guy lives happily ever after with you. A pipe dream, yes, but many, many young girls have them. Unfortunately, they dont' realize that the guy doesn't love them, and he will leave them. What hasn't been mentioned is, WHO WAS THE DADDY? Was he older, like 18? Statutory rape. If he was younger this kid needs counseling as well. His child was killed, we are focusing on this young girl, but what about the male? Was it a "gee, baby if you love me you won't make me wear a raincoat" type thing? Was she starving for that affection so bad, as many young girls are, that she fell for it? The focus needs to be on both, the male and female, yes, she comitted a crime and needs to pay her debt, and not in a daycare center. She obviously doesn't have the wisdom to know when a man/boy is talking crap to her. But, it does not negate the fact she killed a child and she needs to pay a stiff penalty for it. I'm sorry, but unless these kids are made to pay stiff penalties, as in doing hard time, it will not stop and all the "poor child, didn't have anywhere to turn, felt pressured" crap has to stop-THEY KNOW SEX PRODUCES BABIES AND MOREOVER, THEY KNOW MURDER IS WRONG!! And until they actually see their peers do time and made examples, they will continue to murder their babies.

Baby Daddy: Unknown, definately not the pipe dream scenario.

Home life: CRAP

Her mother: Complete wackadoo

Her: Sociopath

She got pregnant and had the baby at 14. I am not one who usually has the punish the parent attitude, but her mother just is not right. Find the news footage, you can see it plain as day. i think its just a matter of time before we as taxpayers will be footing the bill for this kid even more than we already are. The bottom line for all of this sadly is the per capita expense she would generate to house her is more than her risk of doing harm to anyone else in society when you plug it all into the equation. And that just sucks.

What the hell is with this town? It used to be a great starting family town. Now it is just another ghetto that everyone is told to stay away from. Watch out Ford Heights, you have some competition now.
