Yes, but the best contractor would be trained UNION shop not some company that will basically charge a similar rate the owner of the company will keep that & pay untrained fly by nighters 10 bucks an hour for shitty work...

I agree, I have traveled extensively I have been to a couple & they all dirty, I wouldn't feed the food to my dog, & even when they have been in decent neighborhoods the majority of the patrons were really ghetto

But perhaps they would hire trained but currently unemployed workers? There are plenty of them out there.

The last company I worked for, the union demands became so much the company decided to stop production and import product. The company really didn't want to it, as a part of a large corporation they were used to loosing money in this part of the business and were ok with that because they served the other parts well. But it just became too much. This was openly talked about, not threatened. But no concessions were made.
The company I work for now, the union does nothing for it's people but take their money. Almost every person hired asks the same question "do I have to join the union".
In the past the unions were necessary and helped the people. Today not so much.
My father was a truck driver in the union all his life. When one of his companies folded he was forced to change from one union to another. One of the unions folded and lost all the money and now he barely survives on what he makes.
Sorry but I'm not a fan of unions.

Agreed 30 years. When unions do what they are supposed to they are worth it. Sadly, most these days do not live up to the promises they make.

And I'm sorry, but why do you need unions at a DNB? I don't get that at all.

No they don't. The average union constuction worker goes thru a 5 year training program that uses classroom training with real world training in the field. There is no school or training program that I have heard about that is that intense.

People should have the right to hire whoever they want as long as all work being done is up to code. Many of these workers were former union workers, but have not worked in years due the lack of work. We all know someone who has left the state in order to find work in a non-union environment. Unions have cost the city of Chicago millions, many buildings went up elsewhere and trade shows went were it cost half as much.

Been in unions did not help that much, the union reps got theirs and they increase the dues so they can donate to the politicians that will take care of them, this state and every other one should be "right to work"

Just because you are in a fat cat union does not mean you do great work. I have seen shitty union work. I would rather support hard working non union people, private companies that have a motive to do good work than the fat fed unions who have no motive to do good work. Just because someone is a Union shop does not mean good work. The biggest examples of this (Our teachers, our state government, our government workers) Their over inflated self value is amazing. What makes you think that not being trained in a union shop means that they don't do good work? One example The amish. Don't they do amazing work? Most of the outstanding talent don't work in unions because they have to prove they are good. Union shops are so protected they can do shitty work and have their Union thug representatives protect their shitty work.
