I was just looking to see what I may have missed as of late. Head over to the village web site. Seems the last day posted was Wednesday 2-13-13. Now Monday is April this does not seem to be too transparent. Could there be a reason for the delay near election time? Maybe. Or is that now it's Mo's job since he is the clerk. Would it be his job to see that this gets done. If so that kind of answers the question.

I believe that the minutes have to be approved as does the agenda before they are posted and our trustees are too busy answering stupid questions about bathroom fans from citizens who are not even registered voters!!!!!!
really?

Wouldn't the key word here be "citizen". Whether they are registered voters or not is irrelevant. They are most likely tax payers. Elected officials are accountable to tax paying citizens.

Taken from the village website.

"B. A Public Body must approve the Minutes of an Open Meeting within the later of:

1. 30 days after that meeting or

2. At the Public Body second subsequent regular meeting.
"

From the IL gov website.

"(b) A public body shall approve the minutes of its open meeting within 30 days after that meeting or at the public body's second subsequent regular meeting, whichever is later. The minutes of meetings open to the public shall be available for public inspection within 10 days after the approval of such minutes by the public body. "

All meeting agendas must be published 48 hours prior to any public meeting, scheduled or otherwise, in a recognized local news publication and at Village Hall in a viewable manner. I believe this is pretty standard procedure throughout the State of Illinois and with limited exceptions.

First off, to suggest that Midlothian has somehow fallen back into its old document hoarding patterns by one set of minutes being absent certainly has initial consideration credibility.

However, as I suspected, no one actually went ahead and told the appropriate people at the Village that the minutes were missing and more importantly, the minutes may not have been approved.

Therefore, I asked for this to be looked into, but in the meantime, posting this type of question with hopes a citizen will have an answer compared to you calling the Village, asking the question and then letting the Topix community know the response seems a little out of character for you...especially the sentence "Could there be a reason for the delay near election time?"

There's always a reason for delays in publication by a government entity and Village employees are the best starting source for such suggestions, for I certain am curious about the timing of the absence as well...I want to read for myself about someone leaving a recent meeting and I think it was the first week in March???

Fast Insurance, they put them up sometime between your post and conversation with them. There is no way they weren't approved yet because they wouldn't have been able to post them otherwise.

And yes, some have brought it up to them. The person that updates the website needs to get on the ball.

I believe the meetings are video'd so that may be a way of reviewing.
