whats up with that guy who sits in that junk car on grace street, day after day. someone said his name was mark, and he sleeps in it too. every time i go by he is sitting there staring at everything, kind of creepy, i would be afraid if i had a child out playing by there.

Mark is an okay guy i guess. I dont really know him to well...I know his father wont let him sleep in the house. He does labor for some bald guy. I dont know if he is crazy or anything tho...he peddles things too

Is he kinda middle aged with dark hair kinda scroungy looking average height and build? I knew a guy named mark when I was a kid around there, lived in the woods and owned a tent and a bike. He always kept to himself. Me being a stupid little girl I would get on my bike and take him some change or some food. He never did anything to hurt or abuse me in any way, never even looked at me funny. I was always very polite and very respectful. Seemed like he just needed a break and a friend. I've seen him a few times over the years at yard sales or the gas station and even now a decade later he remembers my name and I even look totally different, he always asks how I've been and wishes me well. My grandma always sees him in church too. If it's the guy that I described I suggest stopping and saying hi when you see him, he's a good guy, maybe just slightly slow or something, but no danger to anybody.

small town small minds his dad is the peddler if you want to know so quit fing judging people my god i think i would like too get away from all you judgmental pricks who has never been down on his luck what i know about mark he rides that bicycle evrywhere just to do odd jobs to eat have you ever had to do that why dont you say something about the revolving door on evryhouse in town who will up the anty on the rent to any power plant worker that comes along marissa will go down as the town of the judgmental prick town that has there head in there ass verybody bitches when the kids try to do something like hang out that is all there is here get it teach the younger generation that thereis other things to do besides go to the bar and do drugs isnt it funny how many bars are in town and not one thing for the kids to do but everybody bitches about them i still find it insane that they spent money on that piece of sht school we call highschool oh no shouldnt say nothing because that was a complete scam for a local business but i am sure it was on the up and up lol really we live in st.clair county but we send our kids out of the county just to have enough people to play sports it would have made more sense if they would have built the school on the highway in lenzburg and merged newathens and lenzburg and marissa why wouldnt that work give me one reason or is it because the contractor who built the school wouldnt win that bid just asking marissa highschool is a sad place to send your kid to school but not if you have the rite last name everyone in town including myself need too look at each other and decide what we can do for the kids to save them from the drugs and bad elements enviroment is a crucial part of raising your child positively what is wrong in putting a skate park down at the park there is one in duquoin kids arent even aloud to play ball or even be on the gradeschool grounds without school going on so i ask again what are the kids going to turn to if we dont nip it in the bud why they are young no one wants to do anything for the kids of this town 25%of the drug problem will disapear when the power plant workers leave how comw they wont do a undercover drug sting out there and see for themelves oh forgot know doghnut shop out there

The guy does odd jods then comes back and steals. He worked for me. I learned the hard way. Heard that's why he isn't allowd in his parents house unless they can kEep an eye on their things.

It is nice to see a couple of people in Marissa who are NOT judgemental and actually show kindness and compassion. Mark IS a nice guy who has had a bad life. His father is a creepy man whom has a daughter living in the home with him who is being sexually abused by disgusting so called father. SAhe has told peopl, but not a soul in any authority has ever done a damn thing about it. THAT IS the reason the old man threw Mark out of the house. He can do whatever he wants and there are no witnesses to his crime. The school has been informed, the police have been informed and child protection has been informed but none of them do a damn thing to protect that girl! Marissa is one sick and disturbing place to live!

He used to work on things for my grandmother who was very pleased at his cheap rates for odd jobs and vehicle repair....but like others have said he will come back and steal from you. Don't know anything about his family situation.
