Wolfe person, yo dude. please give it up. As a much more open minded person on the boards that prolly thinks your way more than you will ever realize I gotta say this: give it up. You are hocking the atheist stance on a board that ain't gonna listen. You are trying wayyy too hard and that's not gonna win you creds, especially not here. Keep in mind that Topix, at least for this zip code and most the surrounding zip codes, is pretty much the mouth piece for the lowest of the lowest common denominator types. These are the people that every major tv network feeds into and then some, the lowest mentality of the base average. They are your Cheetos culture, never capable of striving above that, even if they wanted to (which, by the way, they don't. So give it up).
They don't care about your open mindedness. Honest to goodness, Osama Bin Laden could come back today and claim he was Jesus Almighty via the big Second Coming and they would follow with hearts wide open as long as he carried a copy of the bible and claimed to be a Republican. You, my friend, are wasting your time. And I am wasting my own for even telling you this. So there, let's both conserve our efforts and end this debate, okay?

I have to try. If I can get just one person to open their eyes and relies the truth, then it will be worth it.

Plus its fun to bug the ones who are beyond hope the same way they try to drive their religions and beliefs down every ones throats.

Ok, lets make sure we are discussing the same thing first.

My real issue is with theist forcing their way into politics and education.

Lets stick to the education because I feel its the most important.
Stop trying to get creationism in schools. It is a lie and nothing but propaganda for foolish theists. Evolution is a fact. We can also prove that life has been on this earth for billions of years. That alone blows creationism out of the water. That also proves Christianity wrong but I don't really care about that.

Anyway, what makes "my" truth more true is that it is backed by educated scientists who devote their lives to finding the truth and not sit around trying to twist facts to fit what they believe.

I just really want theists to sop poisoning the children's minds.

This applies to all religions yet Christianity is the most prominent in this area.

Alright Wolfe let me set you straight. Creationism was taught in schools when I was a kid, not that it was that long ago but yeah it was. So this is something that was taken OUT just like the Pledge of Allegiance and the morning prayer time. Alright I get it, at least to a certain extent, school is meant to be scholarly not a continuation of church. I also get that we are supposed to keep church and state separate. My thing is that you are ranting at Christianity and saying that their views are being forced on you while the government takes the Ten Commandments out of government buildings, takes "under God" out of the Pledge, and even takes "quite time" out of school because it might be considered prayer time. So where are you getting your facts cause looks to me that "Atheists" are the ones changing things up not Christians. Just some food for thought.

All the things you claim are being TAKEN OUT are things that where forced into place by theists. The phrase "under God" was incorporated into the Pledge of Allegiance June 14, 1954.
Around the same time the 10 commandments started to be placed in court houses and such.

So when you want to "set someone strait", Make sure you know what you are talking about first.

As far as Creationism being taught in schools, if you grew up around here and other "bible belt" places I am not surprised. Yet that is irrelevant. You are doing the same thing all theists do, keep saying "its always been there, why change it", and/or avoiding giving a direct answer to the question.

I can not reach every one. I can only try to help the tiny part of the world I live in. Again, if I help just one person open their eyes to the truth, it is all worth it.

Now stop avoiding the question and answer it.

Alright let me clarify. Longer than I have been alive the words, "under God" have been in the pledge. So with that being said, I never voted to have it taken out. If people want it taken out then why not put it to a vote. It is, after all, affecting a national pledge. Majority rules and everyone would have to live with the vote. Now, yes I grew up around here. You make that sound like a bad thing when in fact, I love this area. I have a long family history here. I have been all over the eastern part of the United States and do not feel that I want to live anywhere else.
Now you are putting words in my mouth. I never said, "Why change it?" I said atheists are having these things removed. To me that means no one is forcing it down your throat, others of your ilk are forcing us to change our way of life, saying the pledge using "under God." I say this makes your argument null and void because it is being TAKEN OUT at a rapid rate. The timeline that it was introduced is not what is in question. Who is forcing what on who is what the question was I thought. I don’t understand how I am avoiding an answer when I kind of spelled it out in simple language for you. Sad that you are so closed minded, the very thing you are accusing others of being, that you refuse to lend any credence to any argument other than your own.

Ok, now you are just mindlessly rambling. I am not even sure what point you are trying to make.

Not to mention you have not "lent any credence" to anything you have said.

The only fact you mention is creationism was taught to you as a child. I know this is true and is what I mean by religion being forced down the throats of our children.

You seem to think atheist are an invading force trying to change the U.S.A. What you don't relies is this country was created by atheists. Your "god" was forced into our way of life. We are simply trying to take it back. Trying to set things right.

Religious "morals" and beliefs really screwed this country up. Its not to late to fix things.

We are not forcing anything on you. Just forcing your lies out of our schools and politics.
