1979 Class Reunion

The class reunion will be held at Black Bear Marina Oct. 3rd. Hope everyone of 1979 will attend.

I graduated from Mcdowell in 1979 and plan on attending but won't stay long if that Pam Lunsford woman (a graduate of 1979) starts running her mouth about HER marina. It is not HER marina. The whole marina thing would still be just an "idea" if it wasn't for Van Boyd and Joe Hall...the financial backing and two of the owners (there is a total of 5). I'm fed up with hearing Lunsford brag, blabbing about "my marina,my marina,I,I,I,mine,mine,mine,me ,me,me. Makes me want to hit myself in the head with a hammer. Can't wait to see all of my old classmates though.

It's like that with every class. I have never been to any of my reunions. I sent money in for one and they returned my check. Sent a letter explaining the reunion was cancelled and I found out later they had it.

Also, I see the people I graduated with in this town and only a few bother to speak. I figure why go to a reunion where people who see you only bother to ask you how you've been at a reunion.

It's not Pam Lunsford, it's Pat Lunsford...and I find her to be quite pleasant. Never heard her say "my marina" ever. Unfortunately they know all too well Joe Hall and Van Boyd are part owners.:(
Hope the reunion goes well...I know many going and it should be a blast!

Mrs. Lunsford and her husband have spent countless hours planning and working on the Bear Creek project, without Mr. Lunsford's hands on approach it would be nothing. Yes I beleive there are five owns on record,however Mr. Lunsford is the only one I have seen actually working on the property and I don't mean just tending the bar and marina.. Obviously you haven't spent much time there, but then again you usually don't have to before you here her famous statement. Would not be surprised if a neon sign with "my marina,my marina" is above the entrance as we enter the reunion. Her and her husband should kiss the feet of Mr.Boyd and Mr.hall, after all...they would be just another couple of faces in the unemployment line if it were not for the financial commitment of those two gentlemen.

the lunsford's have been paid very well for their services too, plus other benefits they think no one knows about yet. there are five owns (i mean owner's) not just two like they would have you believe. i do not wish anyone bad luck, they should just tone it down a bit with their greedy comments.

i find it humorous how jealous people are in this county. who cares if pat calls it her marina? it never ceases to amaze me how often i hear comments like this around here. i know all the owners, and i've never heard any of them complain about what you're saying....so why should you care?

Oh I beg to differ amazed one!!! I know all the owner's also and there is enough trash talk and complaining to rival congress. The point here I believe is for some of them to just calm down and be mature in their actions. Just quit with the me me me crap. The marina is a great facility and that should create enough attention alone. Not an ounce of jealousy on my part.

anngee, have you ever seen any of the other owners cutting brush, working with hand tools or actually getting dirty trying to make something of this place? Grant you probably receives compensation but he does work!

did you read anywhere in my first comment that accused him or anyone else of being lazy? It's an inside joke that you might never understand (and don't need to right now), so be sure and at least make sense when you reply. looking back over this post,the majority of the comments are in reference to certain people giving false impressions of who they really are or what purpose they really serve. clarification, without the huge ego's getting in the way,that's all.

Excuse me!, it seems all this about the owners was started by some jealous dimwits. I have met all the owners at one time or the other and they seem like nice people who would like to see the county grow.

Just wondering:
Who are looking forward to seeing the most? Or the least? Who will have changed the most? Who rose to the occasion of academics? Who squandered it?
