I am not in the mood to hear from God Fearing, Nasty or William joyce and his circle jerk of idiots. I am however, a spiritual but not quite religious person seeking to start attending a church. I do not want any of your crazy bullcrap baptist junk, I do not want any holy rollers and frankly I don't want me and my family to try experience religion with a bunch of hypocrits damning each other to hell all the time. I know this is a long shot, and my reasons for wanting to find a nice church are personal and my own. This is a VERY long shot here in mcdowell county... I would like to find a very tolerant, loving and accepting church..I dont want any of the hate,'gays are going to hell, tattooed people are goingto hell, peircings are going to hell, democrats are going to hell, republicans are going to hell" none of that mess. If anyone knows where this probably elusive religious establishment might be, post a little bit of information here. new manna, this doesn't mean you, you bunch of crazy bigots.

You call people bigots then want to find a loving, tolerant church and don't want any of the hate? LOL! You are the VERY definition of the word hypocrite. Goto any church in this county on any Sunday and you will fit right in!

Without trying to be offensive, a good church would never tolerate many of the things you are looking for. I agree that there are many things that go on within the church walls that are not just right but a church is full of sinners just like you and I are. We are not perfect and to act like we are would make us the hypocrit. The reason for attending a church is to follow Christ teachings and if you are looking to fit in at a church that allows the very things that Jesus Christ is against, then you are not wanting to be christlike and would be better off at your local Gay bar. Many times, we will not realize that it's not the church that is the problem and we must examine ourselves to find the real source of the problem. There are many churches that will accept you as you are , but you must be willing to let go of the worldly things that have brought you to looking for a church to begin with. Good luck on finding the church you are looking for, but it won't be of any help to you and will only multiply your problems.

Screename, if not accepting the bullcrap that comes with those churches, whom I have personal experience with is considered the intolerance that I'm looking to avoid, then so be it. As always, you just spouted off a bunch of crap when you don't even know what you're talking about. Would you like me to reiterate it for you? I'd like to find a church free of homophobia, racism, political bullcrap, intolerance of individual and personal cultures and 'appearances'. Sorry that I insulted new manna, don't get so butthurt. Last time I went there, I was thirteen and had just got pink streaks in my hair. They told me I was going to hell and to never come back, because my hair was a mark of the devil. Thats what I'm talking about. Now piss off. Bubba, regardless of what you think Jesus Christ is against, I'd like an accepting church that recognizes that everyone sins, and it is up to god to judge, not them. That's all I'm looking for... I'd like to go to church on a sunday and have any sort of person walk in without everyone screaming and spewing at the mouth that they're going to hell. It's god's judgement, not mcdowell county's... Christianity is supposed to be a religion of love and respect towards one another. I dont want to go to a church that feels like it's their job to punish you for your sins, if that makes any sense. I think maybe a non denominational church might be what i'm looking for. Does this county have one?

Yes you want a church that parallels your beliefs and name call the ones that don't. Thanks for clearing that up for all of us. As far as New Manna goes, I honestly can't think of anything I care less about. No church should make you feel like your being punished. But there is that thing called the bible and good luck finding a church that sees it EXACTLY the way you do. They don't exist even if they are non denominational.

No, obviously you can't read. My beliefs about those things have nothing to do with the church I want.. I'm just using those as examples that are commonly big issues in churches around here. You're not getting what I'm trying to say, it may be my lack of being able to explain it properly. I'm not looking for a church that follows my line of belief system, I'm looking for a church that is tolerant and accepting of many different values.. I know the picture that brings to mind is those weirdos from Bubble Boy 'bright and shinnneyyyy' but really, I'd just like to find a church that isn't going to sit down my with kid and tell him that it's okay to hate muslims, that it's okay to hate the gay kid, or that it's okay to hate anyone for any reason. This whole thing isn't about me and my beliefs, I'm about to have a little boy and I'd like him to at least have a little experience in a nice church, and if later he decides he wants something different, that's then.. I just dont want my kid being taught intolerance and hatred. Make more sense?

Don't know why I expected Hicksville, USA to understand what me and my family are in search of.
Wish I hadn't started this thread. Besides, most everyone of you are going to hell, all you tattooed people, all you peircing people, all you homophobia, racist, political bullcrap preachers.
Think I'll try Shining Light. Will they mind if I wear my leather and ride my hog?

Okay.
That's not my post.
I dated a preacher for a while. Must be him trying to get back at me. I am willing to try any church at this point. Perhaps First Baptist in town. Or maybe Nebo Crossing (I did go there for a while).
Thanks for all the serious replies.

Just ignore the inbred idiots they have nothing to do but harass people because they're disability bums..I was raised Methodist and my church was really about helping others and teaching you how to apply the Bible to your life. The Methodist church across from Marion Elementary is excellent,Concord United Methodist in North Cove is great as well.I understand your posts Mama and I get what you are saying.Methodists are generally more open arms to all people. My church growing help was about helping others and being the best human being you could be.There was no screaming and talking bad about people or saying people were going to hell.It was more about serving God and what you can do to help your fellow man. So check those out. Here is you a joke. "Whats the difference between a Methodist and a Baptist?....the Methodist will speak to you in the liquor store" LOL. Hope this helps.Have a good one.

I understand completly what you're saying and agree that Jesus Christ taught love not hate. I can't stand the drama that comes along with some church goers but they are not the reason for me being there. We, as church members and as we are taught, should hate the sin and not the person. That's the problem with so many churches today that the person is already condemned before they even have a chance to repent. We as Christians should be leaders by example instead of being someone that trys to force our beliefs on others. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is just that, a relationship and if it is not your decision to accept Jesus as your saviour, no amount of trying to scare someone into your belief will convince that person but will in fact push them away.It is admirable that you want to protect your child from all the hate and negativity but we must also teach them right from wrong and truth from a lie. Good luck on your church and don't give up just yet, there are still some good churchs out there, they're just getting harder to find.

Thanks guys. I just hope I find somewhere nice. I've always thought church was somewhere that you were supposed to learn love, tolerance and how to be a good person, not hate and judge everyone around you. Gotta sift through the mud to find the gems.

OP asks for a church that isn't judgmental then proceeds to be judgmental herself.

Every church is full of humans, humans just like you. If you don't have the ability to withhold judgement, how can you expect other humans do to the same?

Find a church and accept that it will have human flaws. If you can't do that then you will never find what you are looking for.

BTW, Grace Community is the answer you are looking for.

I understand what you are saying.... I went to Bethal Baptist Church in Glenwood all mylife over the last 3 or 4 years iI have not been going but every now and then. But anytime I do go to church I'm always welcome with open arms. Preacher Jimmy and the church care about you no matter what your religious beliefs, how you dress, or how you live your life. I will tell you this when my husband found out he had cancer, he was there with a shoulder to lean and cry on. My husband has never step foot in the church, no one knows who he is.... but preacher Jimmy and the church have been at the hospital every time he's had to stay and his surgery preacher Jimmy was there the whole time. I may not be on the front row every Sunday, but my family has been blessed to have them in our lives. I hope you find a church that's as loving and welcoming as Bethal Baptist has been to us.

Lulzers, oh I know there will always be human flaws. I don't see what people don't understand about what i'm looking for... lets put it in short terms. I dont want my kid to go to church and today's bible lesson is Why Its Okay To Hate People or have prayer, with the prayer topic, 'please let homosexuals die and rock music lovers be punished'. No, its not an exaggeration, its the reason I left three churches in this county. You act like I'm demanding perfection, I am a big girl, I know what people are like and I know that nobody is perfect. Read my posts and if you still think I'm just finger pointing and being too 'harsh' or too judgemental towards what I'm seeking, then move along.
