why does it seem that most of the athletes end up at west? Take it easy east fans... I'm not saying there aren't athletes at east but it seems west has more. Do parents take their kids there bc west is usually better at sports? or does it just happen like that? Is the coaching better? I'm curious since for the most part soccer, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, and softball are usually better at west.

East football sucks...1/4 of the players get most of the playing time while others sit on bench. If they had a winning record....I could halfway understand....but that is by far the case.

Well you have to lol at where West students come from P.G., Old Fort, North Cove , West Marion then you have your answers better athletes. Plus more parents that have money. East gets them from Nebo , Eastfield, etc.... there you have it. I sometimes think there is a lot of overlooked talent because of who the child's parent isn't. Yes we do have that problem here. If I was a coach I really wouldn't care where they came from if they were an asset to my team. But here in this town it's somebody's friends who's uncle is on the school board or donated money/equipment. I know of a few coaches if they ever get the reins of the sports program it will be a different ball game . These old people that keep us bogged down are dying off.

The football coach is in his 30's. The basketball coach is barely 30 and the baseball coach is about 30.That is old men?

I dont believe the coaches at west care who the parents are. they seem really fair with who gets playing time or makes the team. that may be a contributing factor as to why they are better...idk. but it seems like a lot of parents seem to think their kid is the next brett favre, Michael Jordan, or chipper jones. parents need to learn to hand over the reigns to these coaches and realize that they are done coaching their little future hall of famers.
