West McDowell and the problem with Teachers

Band Director that sleeps with student, gay teacher that kidnaps self, etc. What is going on

This is all old news. The band director incident was over 3 years ago, and the pyscho teacher was 6 months ago.

but the issue is, there is always something going on at West. what will happen this upcoming school year? Mdaughter will be going there, i am concerned.

Before that back in 91 was there were accusations flying around a student, Mrs. Davis, and a Chorus teacher.
All I can say is look at your school administrator, Coy "the good ol boy" Gibson. They fired Wayne Tucci from the Rec. Center when he had a DWI, why is this man a principal when he got a DWI a week later?

exactly, this has been going on for sometime. Why are we lowering the standards? When are our teachers going to be held accountable. This is for the future of our children. We need to press this issue now. Who is willing to write a letter of concern to the School Board? I am writing one today and maybe together we can make a difference.

It all depends on who you are and your standing in the community. A few years ago a high school teacher got pregnant by a student and to my knowledge all that happened was she resigned.

There was also two male high school teachers that were suspected of inappropriate behavior with students, one resigned, and one was told to turn himself in but committed suicide instead.

If you have worries about West or think your daughter will not do well there send her to East.

That is not the point. We just look over these kinds of things and each year they get worse. They need to be held more accountable for their actions and make the punishment strict. I bet alot of these issues would stop. A slap on the wrist is not working.

The word "we" implies that everyone approves of this behavior. Not everyone does, but as I said in my previous post, those of priviledge seem to always get by the laws and morals of the community

what do you think "we" as parents and citizens of Marion can do about this? Our Youth and their future depend on us.

Someone once got fired from the county recreation department for a dwi, yet, today, they still employ (in addition to being a home wrecker)someone that cost a Buncombe community corrections officer her job due to the present recreation worker's interactions with a convicted felon?

Oh YES. It's true. Cost one person her job (with probation parole) but the county gal at the recreation department escaped any serious justice. She bragged about how the county manager and his flunkies knew all about it at the time. Violating the law is what she was doing.
