I was there with WTL from the beginning to the end with some gaps when I left and came back. If anyone wants to talk about it, I am willing. Blessings, Jack

Hi Jack,
When Ben was forced to leave it left everything up in the air. How long did the ministry continue from that point.
I recieved a ltter from Mickys wife Adrianne saying her and Micky were divorced. I assume the breakup had to have taken place some time after WTLs breakup.
I left WTL in mid October shortly after Ben was forced out.I would like to know as much as you can recolect from then til the last vehicle left the property.
Writing 35 years later I have sorrow and gratitude. Sorrow that I didn't have the strength or courage to close out that chapter of my life with WTL and the Goldsteins eyeball to eyeball. And gratitude to the Lord for the time I had to spend with these wonderful people.

I had relocated to Miami and I visited with my wife who had not been a part of WTL. About the only one left on the property at the end was Charlie and his wife Rosanne. They were in the process of donating the property to a local church ministry. As you probably know, many had a difficult time adjusting after leaving the group. Some never fully recovered. I have lost contact with just about everyone I knew at that time. Recently, though, through this forum, I reconnected with a dear brother.
After Ben was kicked out of the fellowship, it seems, everyone cleared out rather quickly. It's as if everyone realized that there was no longer a reason to keep the suffering going.

Jack how do you know that many had a difficult time leaving the group and that some never fully recovered? I'm just wondering where you got that information.

When I first left, I kept in touch with a lot of the former members. Through the years I have talked with individuals who struggled after leaving.

I haven't heard anything about the Goldsteins in years. Last time I saw the Schriers, which was a while ago, they were doing very well. Sorry to say,Gus passed away about 30 years ago.

I had similar sorrow and gratitude, so as Mikey would say to just about anything..."Amen" :)

It was interesting to here about Charlie. I often turned him carnal banging on my old Upright Piano I put in the 'motel office', next to his 'loft' bedroom 'apt'. Leaving with that Piano was a trip. For the solid year of walking around Miami collecting money to buy Ashford, NC, I wish it turned another way.

Nah it was worth every step.

Sorry to hear about Gus. He was a dear friend. There was a tall red haired guy that married a girl named Sue that wore glasses on the end of her nose. Micky pressured myself and another guy staying in Franklinville to sing at their wedding. They were still in Marion when I split. When I moved to home base I stayed with Micky, Addriane and another brother in their trailer so I don't have much of a remembrance of the motel except for the Chapel.Does anyone know who I am referring to that got married?
Feel a little uneasy asking but what were the circumstances in him passing?
I remember the Chapel having carpet remnants on the walls.

The motel (or it was a Motel when we first got there) if not tore down, was across the street from the mess hall, same side of the street as the Sanctuary. Charlie and Mickey's families, amoung others, lived there.

i believe it was an auto accident but he was somewhat tormented at the end. Too many circumstances to write publicly about.

Dear Lord, I repent of my sin. As a Back-slider who has seen the error of his ways. Father...forgive me for criticizing those who follow the faith of Jesus Christ. I have accepted you as my Lord an Savior.

Peace and Blessings to all who follow Christ!

Came back to this post and have to say..."i repent of what i said before too."

The Lord has shown my imperfections...and i can honestly say..."i am just as much a sinner as anyone...maybe worse."

I need Christ to save me and guide me through this tough life and accept his payment for my own sins and imperfections.

Ben was a Good man...with all his faults. He helped me when i was and i made the mistake of saying wrong things about him. Forgive me Lord...and forgive me Ben!

Living at the Goldsteins was a little like living with Judge Judy. Like some of the litegents on the show,I got slapped around alot but I needed it. It also was alot like Marine boot camp, I'm glad I went through that also but I wouldn't choose to go through it again.
