Who is in charge of the money for the PRESENT football organization?

Gate receipts, concession stand and such. Any "under-the-table" activity going on?

Is there any accountability?

That would be Jimmy Brooks And Kenny Holland, and as far as I know they run a clean organization.

I agree, They run a clean organization. There are no more honest people in Mcdowell county than these two. They put their heart and sole into helping these kids. The program is competely none profit. There is no outside support ,the gate and concessions is what keeps it going, and their 35.00 . That pays around 4 or 5 thousand dollars for insurance for the players and cheerleaders, it cost around 250.00 to suit each player. All coaches are volunteers , and their time is volunteered. This takes dedicated people . Jimmy Brooks drives a pink truck , for goodness sakes !!!!!

At least Burke Co. Has their stuff together. Kids are required to have a picture ID,& weight in if you are a ball carrier. Larry had a tough time stacking a team down there. It's the only reason he's @ Marion. At least here he can still bribe enough Jr high scrubs,& since it's such a wonderful ( non-profit ) organization ken,& Jim have no rea$$$on not to keep the circus going. Wake up Mcdowell, the fact that there teams from another Co playing means it's not about our Co. It's a platform for some soggy old men to make a $.

They are not making money like some people think, ken spends his own vacation days in Saturdays from his job when he is at the field in Saturday, and if these men had made money from youth league football all these years he wouldn't even have to have a job, so wise up wise ass that thinks they know so much

They have to make at least 8000 on gate admission every Saturday and that's only if 1 player brings 1 paying adult. It doesn't add up to NEVER have money for equipment and to always be a broke league. It's about time the "old" men resign. There are too many unhappy parents. If they don't want to resign then show where EVERY dime of money goes and make rules fair for each team quit being so secretive about everything! And you are right why let another county join this league? There has to be something in it for them why else make teams travel. I'm not sure of any team that enjoys the hour drive to play youth football if parents wanted to travel they would of put their kid on a travel team. Oh and if the "old" men get wind of this thread it will be deleted

McDowell county will never have two people dedicate as much time to the youth as these men have thru the years to only get bashed in return by a bunch of crybabies that think they could do a better job

So...you're saying roughly 2600 people attend youth football games every Saturday at East Jr. High?

You have no clue just how inaccurate your assumption is...I can tell you right now the majority of the parents who are there every Saturday has one kid playing in the morning game and one playing in the afternoon game...and they may have a third child who is a cheerleader (or some combination there of)...

Second...I won't even mention of the number of parents who get there an hour before the first game of the morning so they can avoid paying at the gate.

Third...People have a hard time realizing that money has to go out to pay the refs, chain crew, clock operator, etc...that in itself is significant.

And fourth...this league turns down absolutely nobody for financial reasons. You'll be shocked how many take advantage of that, especially those with multiple players/cheerleaders signed up.

You are exactly right, also when my son was playing it wasn't nothing for me to give kids on the team a ride because of working patents or a coach would give kids a ride because parents couldn't take them but people just want to think somebody is getting rich off of these games

If that's inaccurate then why can parents not be made aware how much money is made? And that was just each child bringing one parent and not including any cheerleaders and under estimating the number of players on each team. How many scholarships are given out? only makes sense if nothing is being hidden to let parents know where money goes and how much is being made and spent where. Not just the money are the rules fair for everyone? Is the equipment up to date? It's just one for a change get some new younger people in who actually care about the league and if chain people are paid I'm sure gate keepers and concession workers are too all should be volunteer work
