Was the winner not the same one to get disqualified last year? Also from what I saw she was not a gracious winner, and NO my daughter was NOT in the pageant.

My daughter wasn't in it either.

Heck, I don't even have a daughter.

BUT, the contest was rigged.

Any & everyone in attendence could see that.

It was very obvious from the audience's reaction who the winner should have been. Definitely not the one that was called as the winner.

I have no child in the pageant therefore no stake in the outcome. It was obvious that the pageant was rigged by the one chosen as winner. Apparently new judges should be chosen that can recognize true talent.

As the mother of a former queen I was amazed at the outcome of the pageant. I believe all judges should be from out of town with no connection to anyone in Marion. It was very obvious to everyone that contestant number 9 had the BEST talent!!

Who was # 9? Also do they judge just on talent or is there other stuff too, such as the interview or the dress?

Also, I don't know the winner or most of the other contestants and I truly don't care who wins but don't you all think you are being a little rude to the girl who won? I mean shes just a little kid right?

The pageant is based on talent 50%, interview and walk 25% each. I am sure contestant #9, who is Brooke, with her bubbly personality did fine in her interview and her walk was outstanding. Before you ask I do not personally know #9.

Please remember since this involves kids please keep personal shots out of the comments. Also all of the judges were from outside of Marion.

are we really bashing children on this board now? this is hideous. i will be the first to say that the outcome of this pageant has been questionable in recent years to say the least, but these are children...we should not be insulting them on a public forum. i thought ridiculing public servants (LEOs, teachers, etc) was bad enough..but this beats it all! how sad.

I am not here to "bash" children, but my experiences from my years in high school, it always came down to who your parents were.

I don't know how the LMMP works, but I thought it was open to anyone who wanted to enter. My family isn't well known or well to do, but I had a relative who's daughter entered it a few years ago.

I will agree that they need to have judges from out of this town. Doesn't the NJROTC still sponsor this? If so, why not ask members from another county to come and judge the event?

I was a big sister in one of the past Little Miss McDowell pageant the little girl I was helping sung a song and everyone one in the house was crying even the people who judged were crying she should have won but her family did not have enough $$$$$$$ even if they had had the money they would have not done that. The little girl who won told her big sister before the show "I was told I will be the winner" the big sister said shh be quit. I know her parents had the money to take care of it. I just don't go anymore what is the use. What about that McDOWELL Co.
