I'm looking for a church home. Many has told me about this being the best non judgemental church, with the best teachings and true miracles happening. Does anyone go there?

I would suggest Old Fort Wesleyan, but I'm a little partial. I'm the pastor.

Are they good to their church members? If you don't have the money to give them any, they don't expect you to pay do they? Is their word of god and spirit good in that church

If you are asking me to believe in God, as an insurance policy, than I will have to politely decline. If you are asking me whether I would rather treat people equally as human beings, and not how your christian god judges them, than yes I would rather do as I see fit. Which is to treat everyone with dignity and respect. If you think that the bible has anything positive to give to young impressionable minds, than you are part of the problem. Do not worry, soon, people like you will be a very small minority, and the world will be beter for it.

The best thing I have learned is don't come to Topix asking for advice about people or church. If you have questions go directly to the source. Figure it out for yourself don't get advice from a gossip site.

I would suggest doing something for the community and stay as far away from these cult-like churches in McDowell County. They want your money and will try every trick in the book to get it. Politics and religon are the same these days.

I go to this church and i love it. And no its not just because its my grandparents church. I really dont appreciate some of the comments on here either. My grandfather is not money hungry. Of course they have bills to pay and thats what they take up money for. If you dont have it then they understand. They also take up money for an orphanage in Hatti, which i think is great. But yet again if you don't have the money then they understand. Our church is a huge family and everyone is accepted. My grandparents go out of their way to help everyone there. There is plenty of stuff they do outside of church to help people that people don't even know about. everything you(mary) said that people told you about our church is true and we would love to have you :)

Well for one, any money that gets sent to Haiti is not going to the people who need it. It is being pocketed by the corrupt government. I went to this church once. People fell to the floor and they came and covered them up with sheets. It is like a cult there. So I agree with you, people should go to go see for themselves.

weird. Covered in sheets like the KKK? Why cover with sheets? That is totally weirder than a man wearing a red dress. There is a lot of weird religion going on around here. Snakes anyone?

The money our church sends to Haiti does actually go to the orphanage. The people that go to Haiti and help with this orphanage visit our church several times a year. We get to see all kinds of pictures from this orphanage and get to meet some kids they have adopted from there. And the people that fall to the floor as you put it, is actually people getting the holy ghost and being filled with the holy spirit. Which i guess you wouldn't know anything about. And really a cult, wow can you say immature. We cover the women up with sheets because we have enough respect to cover them up because they are wearing skirts and dresses. You shouldn't being talking about things that you don't even know anything about or understand. You need to learn some respect and learn not to talk negatively about people that all they do is try and help people and especially about churches. I'll pray for you.

If you are going to attend a church where people get the spirit and fall out on the floor, common sense would say to dress appropriately for such an act of God to occur. To not think it will occur is surely showing doubt of the power of God. I'm sure these women are not exhibitionists and do not want to show their underwear and private body parts, but, they should respect others enough to put some clothes on that will permit them to pass out without exposing themselves to the other worshipers.
