We have recently came into some funds that weren't expected and would like to start a business that would benefit both the children and adults of McDowell County. Would anyone be interested in having a roller skating/go cart place here? Please don't make a joke of this post. Just asking

Sure it would be nice but it will soon be a hang out for the degenerates and that will be reason for alot of people not to come anymore. Good luck

I think we need to tackle the drug problems before we focus on the entertainment

That's really old school. Kids nowadays I don't think would be interested for long. I can tell you one of those indoor trampoline places would do great. They are very popular and none are around here. Kids can have birthday parties or exercise classes using the trampolines makes working out a lot more fun. I think you make some serious money. I'd do it if I could. It's indoor so weather isn't an issue. Parents can take their kids there to get the energy out on days when they can't go outside. It's a win/win for everyone. You'd make a chunk of change and the community would have some good fun. Charities could do jumps to raise money for causes. Seriously consider it.

Thank you for the suggestions. This is something we'd really like to try. There's absolutely nothing for the young people here to do, hopefully we can get started on this in the very near future! Thanks again!

Take your business to another county. A Roller skating/go kart place would be awesome but not here. The only thing that succeeds in this county is food. Good Luck though and best wishes!:)

Thanks :) if I had the money I'd do it. You'd have people coming from other places to use the trampolines as well. Good for our county wouldn't have to worry about noise or stuff like that. You think about the trampolines last a really long time so you wouldn't have to keep putting more and more money into it.

I would rather cater to the young kids than the teens anyway like I said earlier. If you look at how crowded Bouncing Kids in Morganton can get that tells you that

1. People will come
2. Money will be made

Marion had a place like this years ago but they had a bad location and not much advertisement.

Yes! I remember that. Wasn't it in the old factory that was torn down? Check out Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, Greenville, South Carolina

Or look up SkyZone Trampoline Park it's the franchise they came up with it. Dodgeball Championships on the trampolines it's really cool. There are only 3 in this state. I'm pretty sure it'd be huge if somebody opened one here. You'd have people coming from all over. The closest one is Charlotte or Raleigh.

How about no

If you open a skating rink you might as well flush your money down the toilet. That's really, really old and they always close down. It would be popular for 5 minutes then people would be bored and you'd be stuck paying for it. Don't believe me? Go look behind Arby's in Morganton. Lol. Same thing with go karts. You have to think new things get with the times. We have an obesity problem around here too. Last thing you need is some cow falling on the floor. Keep your money honey.

What needs to be done is more activities at the churches for the young people. I know you people have good intentions but it will all end up like the skate park! Just a dope den full of sin. What these young people need is to get to church and get rite with The Lord !

No, keep the church business out of it and go back in the closet and pray. Leave the future of the children alone.

Just think about the possibilities of a SkyZone Trampoline Park here. You could do so much. You could have businesses or churches do like Dodgeball championship to raise money or just for fun. You could do like the basketball trampoline thing that's a blast. You know anybody could have fun with this. Doesn't matter what age. Whoever does this will be making some money. I'm telling if I could do it I would. I could have kept it to myself but hell if somebody will open one it will be great for everyone. Good clean fun. There is so much you can do with a place like this. Not to mention you'd have people from all over coming to use it so it'd be good for McDowell County. So to the entrepreneurs out there seriously consider this!

Would you say football, or biking, or tennis, ect. are old? Skating is a sport and a very social activity. You also have to be strong and healthy to be a good skater. Trampolining has been around for a very long time too. Trampolining, skating, go carts, zip lines, parachute simulator, racket ball, glow in the dark in door putt putt, bounce room, laser tag, better outdoor skate park, new theater, a Dave and busters, would all be great. It ALWAYS , depends on who is running it. And if you are asking what to open, it probably want do well whatever it is.
