Lady comes in today says she heard our new superintendent is asking Russell and them for a raise? She's been there like only 3 months! What is up with that?

I support Dr. Martin 100% and supported Dr.T 100%. Apparently some only support themselves and can't wait to backbite any and everybody. If you want qualified people you have to pay them. Dr. Martin seems to be very qualified and is a very nice person. I hope the majority of people who have children in school will get behind her and lets make our schools better. A positive attitude is sorely needed.

You do realize most of her salary is paid by the state don't you? It is a set salary based upon degree, years of experience and number of studens enrolled. The county only pays a supplement.

Be careful your injecting facts into the conversation and these peopple are use to making up their minds, based on their fantasies. It could destroy their thought process!! Thanks for adding facts to the conversation. It was beginning to look like a Topix Thread.

Her salary is set and paid by the state DPI. She is paid the same as ever other superintendent, based upon years of experience, degree and number of students enrolled in the school system. The county only pays a supplement, which all other counties do. That supplement is the differece between keeping an administrator, or having one use this county as a stepping board to another better paying position elsewhere. To simply complain because she is getting paid for spending years and years in graduate school to obtain advanced degrees, and has spent many years working to obtain valuable experience is ridiculous. If you have issues with her leadership style and decisions, and can articulate them, that is one thing. To simply try to discredit her because she is being paid what the market says she is worth is another. That is what is so wrong with this county. Everyone wants to complain and cause division over the trivial things, and want to scream about how behind we are, but yet no one wants to pay for anything to get this county caught up and improve.

The county was already giving her a $10000 supplement. If they have extra money to spend several schools have serious needs. Also the point is she agreed to the salary and signed a contract. To work 4 months and ask for a raise is unacceptable. The school board should be ashamed.

Yeah the state sets her salary, but its the supplement, that she agreed to, that is the problem here. If she cant balance her own checkbook how is she going to balance the school systems? Did she not know that she needed more money 3 months ago? And the fact that she is so willing to throw away programs and scold teachers for money issues just shows what a terrible leader she is.

I believe I would give this post the DRAMA AWARD, for the jealousy shown and the raw nerves. Without facts it would be hard to say what has been said here!!!!

I don't think so. I read in the paper where she said about the supplement teachers got that she wanted to split. Why would you pay for work that hasn't been done yet? Guess that doesn't apply to her. Teachers have enough to deal with and she claimed it made fiscal sense. Right... Unless its her a raise.

My question to you is: Why after the county paid for your education are you so set on causing problems for our Superintendent? I know who you are and know you didn't pay a dime toward your teaching degree!!

You are a fruitcake I read the paper everyday. I thought what was done to the teachers was ridiculous so whoever you think this is get your Facts straight. Wow sure are all about that Superintendent.... What's that about? It's disgusting that she asked for a 10,000 dollar raise any reasonable person after reading all the teachers have been through would question why?
