Best Hamburger Find

[Getting Hungry]

If you haven't tried the hamburgers at Big Dipper Drive-In (formerely Mr. D's) in the Greenlee community, you sure are missing a great meal! Many different sandwiches, ice cream of all kinds, kids meals. I stopped in today on my way home and was amazed at the many items on the menu. Worth the time to stop there.

No, not the owner. I understand his name is Chris. Not sure of his last name. Store front just looked very appealing, so I stopped in. A friend of mine told me a few weeks back that their BBQ was delicious. Always looking for a good place serving good food. The Sweet Shoppe in Old Fort also has an extensive menu, inexpensive and the food is great.

Well I don't know where the heck Greenlee is or the former Mr. D's...could you explain to a person who has not lived here forever. I do love a good burger.

Pretty easy to find. Leave walmart/lowes shopping center and turn right onto highway 70 west and go past PG school and you will go thurough it. If you hit the interstate then just keep on trucking and eat in asheville like everyone else.
PS. What are the 2 best things that come out of McDowell county? highway 70 and interstate 40!!

If you want the best burger in McDowell County, go to Market Grill next to JB's.

anywho_1, my husband and I stopped in at Market Grill afew weeks ago for cheeseburgers and fries (and 2 iced teas). Because we have to watch our money, we only eat out once in a great while, and I actually totaled up the cost of the meal before we ordered. To our surprise, when we paid our check, it came to $16, a LOT more than what the menu prices reflected. The owner there ripped us off, plain and simple, and I'd advice anyone who is thinking of eating there to think twice!!

for the money it sure is hard to beat a hut burger from the bbq hut.ask for extra cole slaw bigger & better than wendys carolina classic.

Did you take into account that there is now a 7.75% tax on everything in this state?

I eat there on a regular basis and get a burger fries and tea for around $7 better food for around the same price of a combo at a fast food place.

BBQ Hut used to be good. Couldn't beat their BBQ sandwiches, but the last time my mother and I ate there, we were both sick within 2 hours.

Best burgers and food is at Ivan's, especially when Vic is cooking. New owner is working hard to fix Ivan's reputation.

JJ, the new owner will need to clean house and weed out some of his clientel to fix Ivan's.

The Market Grill has some good burgers and sexy waitresses.

I know the owner and 40 individuals are already on the "banned for life" list. Perhaps you haven't been there recently. If you have any suggestions, you need to speak directly to him.
