Jamie Brown is one of the best coaches that has ever been a part of sports in Marion, stop crying cause they beat you. Everyone always has to come up with excuses when they lose and excuses only satisfy the person making them. Jamie coached me when I was younger and was the best coach any athlete could ask for. He developed many kids not only into great athletes but great men as well. He was more than a coach to us all and was always there anytime we ever needed him. He helped all of us to become the ball players that we are today and never got enough thanks for it. Jamie Brown was more than a coach to me, growing up without a father was hard and Jamie was one man that helped fill that role in my life and I cant thank him enough. Just because you lose doesn't mean you have to blame it on people, it probably means you need to work harder to beat such a great coach. He developed a team into brothers and we all realize without him that we probably wouldn't be where we are today. So when you have a team/teams with the success that Jamie Brown has then you can talk crap, but until then you should probably spend more time practicing and learning instead of wasting all your time on here talking crap and not getting any better than you were when you lost to one of the greatest coaches that I have ever played for. Thanks Jamie Brown for everything.

As coaches we should all hope for as great a tribute as Joey just posted to Jamie. I hope that one day when the kids i have coached are grown feel that I have been a positive influence on them like Jamie was to his boys.

@jme ... u so got the wrong Jamie Brown. This Jamie brown has never been a mason a day in his life. Get your facts straight!@ Joey former player...thx he really needed that. I know bc I'm his wife of 18 years and have kept my mouth shut, which as many of u know was really hard for me to do. THIS Jamie Brown is a wonderful father husband and coach of many years now. He loves to coach and can't help he knows the game! Don't be jealous it is so not becoming. If your son/daughter hasn't actually been coached by Jamie u have no idea what kinda kind hearted young spirit he has on the field. He likes to win. It's in his blood but his philosophy is if you teach them the right fundamentals and skills u will win. If u still have a problem with one if us we are not that hard to find. GROW UP and come talk to us face to face about it . We would be glad to help u get to the bottom of it problems with either of us. And to my Jamie Brown I love u and know what kinda MAN U REALLY ARE!

Way to go Shellie! I have never been on this forum. I am really to busy but I heard that some REALLY stupid people were running their mouth about someone I know personally and I just had to say a thing or two! Jamie coached my son for many years and not at West Marion. Who cares what school a child is from. He was a great coach and trust me, he gave the refs a run for their money then. And I have to admit I did too. They are not perfect. They are all human. As I watch the professionals, they make mistakes too. So put that stripped shirt it and hit it if you think you are so great! You will see it aint that easy! I think some of you need a check up with God. Keep your mouth off of children!!! It is a pretty sorry person to cut a child down. And I am sure that is a nice HOT place waiting for you! You don't mess with children. I don't care who they are or where their from! There are coaches and refs that I may not like on the court or on the ball field but that don't mean they are a terrible person. So do us a favor and turn your negative attitude toward something positive. I could say alot more..... Take care Jamie and Shellie and the whole family! Never give up!

Jamie Brown is the best coach I have ever had, and I have had some good ones. He is more than just a coach to all of us. Not everyone on our team had an ideal family life. To all of us, he was a father. When things went wrong in someone's personal life, Jamie was always the first one to respond. We spent countless weekends together as one big family. We were all brothers, and still are. That is one thing that cannot be taken away from us. There is no other coach in the history of McDowell County to keep in touch with former players as Jamie Brown does. The fact that people have been saying that he is not a good coach is absurd. Seven of the nine core players that stayed with him since we were young, play a collegiate sport. How does that constitute as a bad coach? We are getting college educations and getting to play the sport that Jamie taught us so well. Futures have opened up for us because of him. Just because his team beats yours, doesn't give you the right to deface his character. If anyone wants to know the real Jamie Brown, contact one of his former players.

I heard today about all of the trashing of Jamie Brown that was occurring on this forum and I had to read it. After reading it I had to have a say too. My son played baseball for Jamie for many years. During that time Jamie taught him more about life than just what happened on the ballfield. Jamie and John Wrenn took 10 boys,(most far from rich kids) and turned them into a band of brothers all the while teaching them the game of baseball. No Jamie is not perfect, who is. He and I had disagreements more than once, but the bottom line is this. JAMIE KNOWS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL. Jamie CARES ABOUT THE KIDS HE COACHES, and Jamie is a WINNER!.. Yes, he wants to win. and yes he pushes the officials to the limit sometimes, but he does it to let his players know he has their back. And I want my child to play for a Coach who will fight for them. Agreed...sometimes Jamie does go to far. Again, who is perfect. Jamie is a good father, a good man, a good friend and as far as McDowell County goes, a GREAT Coach. My son hopes to start a coaching career someday and you can bet, there are MANY characteristics and philosophies of coaching and baseball that he will carry with him on the field that is 100% Jamie Brown..

And one LAST thing.. Whoever the "winner" was that mentioned Parker by name in a negative and degrading way, lets just say you really showed alot of class and maturity. Bad-mouthing Jamie is one thing. At least he is an adult. But Parker is a minor child. I have watched her on the softball field and she is a joy to watch. She plays the game with heart and determination. She has the ability and work ethic to go far in sports. Leave her out of your childish criticisms and whining. She is a Child and a very good athlete!

my kid is way better than Jamie's kid, Parker. Parker just throws the ball up and bangs it off the backboard. i bet she dont even know the real rules cuz all jamie has to do is call up his boyfriends at the rec department and get some reffs that are his buddies.
You know what u guys shouldnt even be talking about Parker she is just a kid so she is really good at sports and there is alot of talent at west marion. you know what u guys r just jealous and i thought old fort was the best team in mcdowell county well.... west marion beat old fort last sat so beat that.
