The last word I got was October. Plans was August but got moved back. But I'm sure someone knows more about it than I do. So just give it a couple hours.

It will be opened for black Friday.New Lowes going up too. There's been nothing in the paper about it. North west side is going to be empty.Bet Verizon will also move.Hope they have a better parking lot when they do.

September 10th is when it's supposed to open.

That's also a thing I've noticed. Anywhere you see a Wal-Mart, there is a Lowe's nearby.

Maybe they are in cahoots together.

And no new stores or businesses have laid claim yet to the building.

One nail salon opening.
One video/game store opening.
Tractor Supply in old Winn-Dixie
Strip club basement at City Hall.(thought i would throw that in to see if you really can read)

According to all the latest news, WalMart's Super Stores have become very unpopular across the country. WalMart is in the process of down sizing their stores with the hope of recovering what they view as a mass exudes by millions of their customers. Older shoppers avoid Walmart Super Stores, because of all the walking to obtain items and by the confusion in displaying the products. While Walmart's customer base is falling other big box stores have been showing a customer loyality increase. Walmarts old goal was to be all things to all people and to replace every store in a normal town. Who knows what their new face will look like?

Will there be trailer spaces near WalMart? I would like to be within walking distance. How about a tattoo parlor close by?

“Well yeah...”

The story I saw was they were adding smaller "dollar store" type ones to their chain. Look at their sales and parking lot and I don't think their business is falling.

The new walmart is set to open around October, or September.. If everything goes as planned.. as a former associate of Wal-Mart I am Highly against it.. They would make us cover 5 departments at one time, at the current store, telling us that we had to prepare for the bigger store, as they had NO plans on hiring more associates. Then if you didn't finish all 5 Departments, in what they call "Zoning" you were coached. Basically they send some hateful old woman to tread you like a child in front of customers. Did i mention that i only made 7.60 an hour for this? I took all i could, and finally quit. Worse career ever.
I intentionally shop at other stores, just to not feed to the beast that is Wal mart.

I dont like a lot of things I have to do on my job but I do them. And $7.60 is better than $0.00 a hour

WalMart is out for their bottom line. They are not now or have they ever been concerned about their employees or the community. They plot and planned how to increase their bottom line. In truth they do more to destroy the American way and should be watched close. If they have financial or distribution problems all the communities that have become addicted to them will be in a world of problems. Groceries, House hold items, glasses, ATM's, gas and everything will depend on one company. The old warning about putting all your eggs in one basket has been forgotten. The worst thing is what WalMart has done to American jobs. More than anyone or any politition they have caused more jobs to go to China in order to sell to almighty Walmart. People flock to Walmart to spend their pay check like a bunch of chickens running for food. Go figure!!!!!!!!
