I ask the question where is Jackie Turner Jr.? I just found out that he works in Buncombe County.
He is working for the DEA (drug enforcement agency). This is how this all came about Jackie Jr. does not have a four year college degree which is required to be a DEA officer. So sheriff Jackie Turner Sr. made a deal with the DEA people if they would swear in Jackie Jr. that McDowell County would keep Jackie Jr. as a deputy and McDowell County Sheriff Dept. would pay his salary. The citizens of McDowell County pay Jackie Jr. salary. When Jackie Sr. left office he advise Dudley Green that he would have him appointed sheriff but he must keep Jr. on the payroll. As we known fact Dudley agreed to this. This is a public record at the McDowell County court house. Ask for the sheriff department budget listing the names and salaries of all the employees of the sheriff department. Jackie Jr. salary is listed as $40,000 plus he gets overtime when doing DEA assignments.

What do you think of this!!!
Dudley you made the deal.

You are mighty right about that.Door to door, meet and greet, fund raisers, and barking dogs every time they show up on my road. They travel in packs and talk your head off.I would be interested to know if he will work that hard if elected. And what will he do with all his campane side kicks?
keep them busy campaining for the next election?Do you know who they are?

The sad thing is, just like in most elections, there isn't a descent candidate. Dud probably was corrupted by the Turners, and I don't agree with him spending money making everything green when he wasn't even elected. Rick Smith is the head of the whiniest family I've ever met and the thought of him being sheriff makes me roll my eyes. Mark Stewart sold marijuana - I don't care how much it was the fact that he had anything to do with drugs tells me he doesn't need to be in law enforcement. Mike Thompson is a joke and always has been. Never heard of John Glen until now and probably never will again. Honestly, I'd vote for any of them before I would Rick or Mark, but not thrilled with any of the choices. I'll be glad when its over so I won't have to hear anything else about it. Wait, yes I will, Rick's family will be whining about him losing and making every excuse imaginable.

I have not said anything in awhile. The Lord called me and chastise me on negative gossip, not only in our churches but on this forum. You can say Stewart is a joke, the devil makes us fight amongst ourselves. The citizens that believe God has the final say will prevail. If the downward spiral continues, it is another sign that we as citizens need to be closer in our daily walk with God.Touch not my annointed or do my prophet no harm.I know Stewart is a past felon, are we going to label him as one forever?David was an adulter, the criminal one the cross beside Jesus,is with Him in paradise..

A felon running for the office of Sheriff has to be out of touch with reality. I understand that his conviction was over 15 years ago but he is still a felon. I've read some of what Stewart wants to try to do in his fantasy world, turn the Sheriff's Department into Social Services & only charge the "real criminals", the ones who don't hurt anyone.

What I haven't read is how Stewart PLANS to fund his Public Assistance Program. That's not the job of the Sheriff nor their Deputies. Stewart talked about th metal detectors at the Courthouse & said that most of the people working there carry a gun. Is that so? Apparently Stewart doesn't know that it's illegal to carry a firearm into the Courthouse unless you're an LEO. But then again, why should he know this, he can't legally carry a firearm anywhere.

Stewart followers tell me that he will "run" all of the drug dealers out of town. I say good luck with that. Obviously Stewart has no clue what it actually takes to legally charge and CONVICT the more established drug dealers. Sometimes it may take years to finally climb the ladder or get one of their underlings to roll over on them. I am anxious to learn how Stewart again plans to implement his plan of action.

As for the "real criminals", just who would qualify? Some would say that the drug dealers aren't hurting anyone. Wouldn't that go against what Stewart said that he intends to do, get rid of all the dealers? Would "real criminals be the ones that broke into my house and stole my possessions? They didn't hurt me physically so will there be an effort made to go after this element.

Then again, I would bet that if you have better public relations all would be well. Mr. Stewart, as a business man there's one thing that I believed you would have learned by now. No matter how much you try you will never satify everyone regardless of the effort you put into trying. That goes double for law enforcement. The good citizens of McDowell aren't beating the doors down at the Sheriff's Department now to give information and they wouldn't do for you either.

It's a good thing that you will NEVER have the opportunity since you stand about as much of a chance of being elected Sheriff as I do of winning the lottery.

What are you trying to ask?You are trying to presume you are crossing bridges before you ever get there.Life is not about presumptions.Life is about leting God lead you to make correct choices. Our freedom of choices which should be lead from Gods influence in our lives.I am not Stewart.I do believe he is honest, just like his dad.I do believe he would put his life in harms way to help me or any other citizen in McDowell. His idea of eleveating the hard core drugs will elevate crime here for our county. He is not above parking a sheriff car outside of the known drug houses in McDowell.Citizens need to join him in this cause..

What planet did you come from?? Stewart is just another embarrassment for McDowell County. His followers must be a bunch of brain dead Jim Jones type followers. We would be better off without a Sheriff than to lower our standards to electing a felon.

You can stay in the dumpster where you were apparently born and aim to live that way.I think you have had the code of silence nawwing at you for keeping the truth under cover. You cannot lower standards for a citizen that is willing to help..If you are not part of the solution to clean up the house you are part of the problem..Find you a job in Avery too...If you were really concerned about standards, sure as hell is hot, would not be for the dud...

I'm not quiet sure what you're talking about, you lost me with crossing bridges & "eleveating" drugs. If you're the cream of the crop of Stewart supporters he doesn't have a chance.

Is it just me or are these Stewart followers wearing thin. I can't believe that a low life felon would run for sheriff or anything else, but for these rabid mouthed followers to try to "help" him in the manner they are using is unbelievable. I can't wait till the election is over and some of these people crawl back under their rocks.

The reality of the matter is that MARK STEWART has as good of a chance to get elected as any other candidate. Fortunately there are many of us who are not so narrow minded and can see for ourselves what is going on without having to listen to some of the mindless drivel that people on here perpetuate. If you support a candidate, then try do do so in a responsible manner.Trashing another candidate that you probably don't even know to help your candidate is enough reason for me not to support whomever you support. I shall cast my vote for MARK STEWART and may the best man win.
