The smokehouse restaurant used to be where the nara express is, and was owned by DAVE Huskins I believe.

This is buy far the best topic i have read on here everyone remembers all these places so now we know how old everyone is,remember the hamburger chili at jumbo grill .the chili burgers at bantam chef is almost like it i go back in time everytime i get one ..we should do more like this ..the reason we circled these places was the same reason teenagers hang out at the shopping centers today and we dont like it now that we are older we should remember our good times and now thats as close as they will ever get to what we had and wave at them and let them make there memories.

I just realized those restaurants all had one thing in common, they were mom n pop operations and no stock holders and ceo calling the shots.Mr Atkins get tired of the rock on the juke box (i miss those things),he'd yank the plug.Wed get mad at him and our quarter say bye bye lol.

Ther was a cafe beside the the bus stop across from the old house theatre and I think it was called the blue star cafe.Only one I can remember with blue in the name.Lee Jones made the best chili and slaw burgers.Bradley's grocery used to deliver groceries to my grandmothers house in stumptown. The old building is gone ..used to be on the side of the railroad going up the hill into stumptown.Didn;t someone run into the jumbo grill with a car one time? And someone else ran into a row of new cars at the chevrolet place too?

The Dutch Grill was actually Allison's Dutch Grill and it was about where Ronnie's hardware store is located. It was next to the lumber yard, which belonger to Bob Lambeth, who died in the last couple of years. Bradley came later. There are still Allisons around who were associated with the Dutch Grill. Ask Betty Allison Ward at Westmoreland Funeral home if you want more information.

Do you remember wrote:
Does anyone out there remember the name of the Grill back in the 1950's and early 60's that sat where Jim Cook's Chevrolet is now? Seems as though there was the name 'blue' in it but not quite sure. I know there was blue lights that surrounded it, sorta dim-lit too. It wasn't the Dutch Grill nor the Catawba Grill. My friend and I just can't seem to remember.
It was the Allison Dutch Grille
