I am sure yesterday(Saturday May 14) many of you read the paper about the cuts to MCS. Okay, I get if a school system does poorly they get a reduction in funds but from my take on the article yesterday-Indiana is going to give money to wealthier districts and cut funds to ones they deem as "poor". Districts not performance. What gives our government the right to take OUR tax dollars and say that because a school system is in a less fortunate area that they are less deserving in funds that could help? You cut funding to schools poor or not and you are going to see an uprise in drop out rates, juvenile crime, drug use, teen pregenancy, and children that will not go to college and become part of the welfare system. Republican or not-this is WRONG and I WILL NOT be voting for ANYONE who supports this let alone creating a stigma that you have to be rich to be educated properly in the state of Indiana.

You are absolutely right. Also, with their voting of "vouchers" so that some parents can send their kids to private schools and "charter schools," the the State has instured that schools that are deemed "poor" in performance will lose many of their students who can get in to these other schools (that don't have to take anybody they don't want)and will be left with the students who need more help but will get less State money. It is just a scam for the State to find an excuse to give more money to schools where the rich people send their kids and they can claim "public schools" in general are "failing" just like the Republicans have been saying for years. The GIP is entirely under the influence of big money, those who want to profit by running "for-profit" schools and the religious extremists who won't send their kids to public schools anyway because they think they are "evil!" Come the next election......don't forget which party did this to us!
