moved tp Pontiac big deal, it's like moving a big pile of garbage upstate and paying for it up there. I wish they would privatize the whole prison system in Illinois. Prison guards retiring at 45 no wonder Illinois is broke !

When will Illinois publish ALL state employees pay? It should be like most states, online. Compare the surrounding state employees pay and benefits to Illinois employees. You do not have to be an economic major to see why were broke!

Not all Unions are bad. If the workers are actually employed by a company thats producing an end product they serve a very good purpose. Construction, factories, and mines all benefit from Unions. Decent wages and insurance as well as a safe workplace. Government employees (local, state, and federal) and teachers give the rest of the unions a bad name. What is the ONLY union that you can count on hearing about a strike? Teachers. More pay, more retirement, less work. Drive by Marion high lately? Look at the parking lot. Hummers, Mercedes, BMW, Caddys, Vettes. Unreal. As for the Tamms prison, they did it to themselves. They claim the DOC is understaffed. Maybe its because on any given day 1/3 of the staff is out on one of its 4 to 8 weeks of personal, sick, vacation, comp, days they get. Then you have several staying over on overtime working a double to cover those that are off. No wonder its over budget.

You speak the truth. State employees pensions are what's bankrupting our state. When you get full pension for 25 to 30 years its a drain

Those are the kids cars. Lol. I hate to see good jobs leave So. I'll. But I agree with you it is unions that have made them good jobs. But employees must be reasonable and responsible.
