Why is it for a town as big as Marion there is nobody at the basketball games? In my day parents and teachers actually showed up at the games. These little towns have a packed house supporting their teams, kind of disgraceful but so is the Marion school system.

Just stating the facts. You said nobody is at the games. Maybe the new coach will get them playing better and people will support them.

The only way they will ever have a decent team is if they actually pick kids by skill and not by status. As a parent with a child who gets to play I am embarrassed by this procedure but it has been this way since I played,,its who you are and Marion is terrible because of it.

They played Cahokia pretty close and that is a step in the right direction. New coach is making progress.

8th grade team won Class L State Championship, undefeated, with an average margin of victory close to 25 points.

I was at the game last tues. night when the Hill boy made a full court throw and made the basket. Never heard much about it did we? I have also noticed that alot of people leave after the pon pom girls perform.I think that is rude to do the ball team thst way.

Do the basketball boys and their parents come and watch the pom competitions on Saturdays. I don't think they do.

Yea but do those black kids live in Gents addition(the hood) or they live on the other side of the tracks. Like every year, you could take kids from Gents and All Stars from church league and they would smoke MHS team. Hell Maddux ran off the future because he thought he was too young to get serious minutes. He moved to Kentucky. So please dispute that one.

The kids from the hood have to try out in order to make the team. And the kid that moved to Kentucky, his parents moved so they could both be employed by the same employer. Btw that kids future is football not basketball. Yeah, i will dispute it all day long.

I would venture to say that every school has talent walking the halls that does not play for their school team. The usual reason for this is that those kids lack the discipline and work ethic to put in long practices and have to answer to an authority figure. It is easier to show up and play one night a week and play in some church gym somewhere.

You said it DISCIPLINE because those "kids" have gotten away with bad behavior since a young age, and will continue until they are locked up. that's the way it is..

You can believe what you want. That was Kai's way of being a gentleman and not saying what he wanted to say. The program was a joke. Had nothing to do with same employer. Anyway that was the past idiot that was the coach. Give it time, we got a great coach.

Yes, I will believe what I want, and you believe what you want. I do agree with you that we have a great coach now. And I am trying to live in the present, you are the one who brought up the past.
