Does anyone know this Dr. George in charge of pain management at the VA healthcare Center. I haven't heard anything good. Many veterans are complaining that he is over the top and will not issue pain medication.

Besides being a doctor he is also a policeman. Now I have all the respect in the world for the police. But this guy works with a drug task force and is also setting in the pain management position as a doctor at the VA. In my opinion and you know what they say about opinions this is a conflict of interest and possibly a breach of ethics in regards to patient treatment. This actually places him in the position to use the VA healthcare Center as his own personal database for the drug task force. And anyone can plainly see that it would be just too tempting for him not to do so. This is causing a lot of veterans unnecessary suffering and our veterans have suffered enough without being subjected to an overzealous individual abusing the system for personal gain.

I don't see how being in law enforcement is necessarily unethical for a VA doc. If you really think there is something fishy going on here, you have every right to meet with the Chief of Staff at the VA and discuss your concerns. Or, you may report the guy to the state medical licensing board. But be careful, docs don't take too kindly to libelous accusations. So, be sure of your info before you report anything.

What I said that I thought it could be unethical, the doctor being in pain management and also working with a drug task force on the side and the possibility of the position being abused. I find it rather strange that he would work his way into this particular position when so many other openings are available. It's just too tempting for it not to be abused. Do you understand that? It would be like a notary public notarizing a document for his own family. It's just plain common sense which seems to be lacking in many areas of our government today due to leftist lunatics believing they must control every aspect of our lives.
