To the early morning joggers in Marion, why not wear reflective clothing, or lights so you can be seen?! When your running against traffic and a car approches from the other direction , do you think your easy to see?!

I'm going to have to agee with this. It hard to see them at 530am especially with oncoming headlights in your eyes.

I agree. Trouble is, there's no law against stupidity That said, it's a good thing that folks care about physical fitness. When I see joggers, walkers , cyclists I feel better about the community as a whole.

I agree wojo. It's good to see much of our community caring about health. Too many small towns way off the beaten path in southern Illinois would only walk more than 50 feet if it was because they had to park in the back of the parking lot of a buffet. We have that element also, but thankfully we have a healthy segment to counteract that.

Not complaining about people being to healthy, the problem is, if they aren't seen, they'll end up unhealthy in the hospital. They can be as healthy as they want, just play it safe. While on the subject, if a person is riding a bike, how about a light on it?!

I am probably one of those runners you are talking about...we were actually just this morning (while running) discussing getting reflective waistbands :) We are very aware that we are hard to see. There is a small distance that there is no sidewalk and we do our best to stay out of the way of oncoming traffic.

Runner,

Sounds great. Thanks for this. Not trying to be whiney (even though it sounds that way :).) but it really is hard to see you guys with oncoming cars. Carry on, and keep pounding the pavement.:)

BTW, I tried to be a runner, but flat feet and bad knees killed that.:( I got some Brooks with extra support and concentrate on walking so I'm good to go.
