Let's see: in the 80's it was a Busch Gardens to be built SE of Marion... then it was Ed Mangan Energy Designs to be built on the SE corner of Marion Square.. then it was Olive Garden,... much later the STAR bonds... now Logan Roadhouse...still looks and smells like BS to me

I understand that Olive Garden and Red Lobster are run by the same outfit. So, unless there is enough business for both, towns will have one or the other.

You are right but if I already have a seafood restaurant that under performs, do I want to open an Italian restaurant and take the risk of opening a second under performing restaurant?

Olive garden and red lobster are right across the street from one another in paducha, i love olive garden but it would probably mean the end for local legend "bennies". So i dont mind traveling for my olive garden fix, Marion does need a GOOD steak place though.

Amen to your steakhouse comment. I ate at Bennies the other day and the waitress said they are known for their tamales. Did not know that.

How does it stack up against a restaurant in a highly populated area? How does it stack up against a national average? I don't know!

I think the Bennie's comment was spot on...Don't ever think the old goat in city hall is above twisting a few arms for his cronies...

Bennie's sucks. It's overpriced and nothing seems to be homemade. It's all made with a mix and cheap ingredients.

Bennie's is awesome, would have to say every time I come home I go there and eat. I really like it since they now serve alcohol and have some daily and lunch specials that change things up from the menu.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
