Elementary School

We are moving to Marion during the holidays and I would like to know which 5th grade teacher is the best. My child is having a hard time knowing that we are leaving his school and friends.

Marion is not the school it used to be unfortunately. So choose wisely. There are so many other kids brought in from surrounding areas that the quality is NOT what is was when I attended. By the time my kids came along it was already going downhill. Thank goodness mine are out! I have many friends that have moved their kids to private schools or even to Richland. So, like I said - choose wisely and remember that YOU are the parent and the one in charge.

Lake City to Marion.... It would be worth the commute!

stay away from mrs patrick...she doesn't know how to handle 5th grade problems...she use to teach younger kids and she needs to go back there!

Doubt u get to pick who the teacher will be. Usually is based on available spots.

Keep in mind that a lot of marionites send their elem. kids to Richland in West Memphis...
Don't know how they do it, but they get by somehow..

Yes they do - West Memphis is open. Richland and Ms.Looney are SUPER.

My son attends Richland and They are AWESOME!!! Unfortunatly that school only goes to 6th grade then its off to West jr high

I disagree with some of you. This school is amazing, atleast the intermediate school is. Mrs. Watson is a 5th grade teacher who has been there for a very long time and knows all of the rules. She taught both me and my sister. Such a sweet woman. She teaches in the gifted and talented cluster. You will love her if your child is placed in that class. Also, it is very easy to make friends there. There are so many children and I know many of them, they are very sweet.

West junior high has top benchmark scores and great literacy and math teachers- there is academics after Richland
