The ROAD HOME PROGRAM has Grants for victoms of Maringouin. But Maringoun won't provide copys to the victoms.
But yet thay are trying to get more bussness to open in Maringouin.

Town of Maringouin Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m.
The utilities are run by the Town of Maringouin.
You say you are a victim of hurricane Katrina and or Hurricane Rita and you need bills for July 2005. Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana on August 29, 2005 and Rita entered on September 24, 2005. If you were a resident of Maringouin at that time then how can you get compensated for your lost of utilities? If you can then we all want some of the "Road Home Program".
As far as the business part, I support the local Maringouin merchants as much as possible. They are working people providing services to make a living for themselves and their families. Some have been stalked, robbed and burned out and have still prevailed.

The reson for the utilitie bill copy is for prof of resident at the time. I'm selling the property to Road Home. I'm not getting nothen for free. But becouse of the Town of Maringouin not providing this info to me. It has prolonged the sale. But its not stoping the sale. Point Coupee Elec. Has provided this info. I'm just saying. If the Town of Maringouin would not help in this way. Witch is the Law to provied this info if reqested in writing by certifed mail. Why would anyone want to open any kind of bussness in this town. Maybe if it had a diffrent Mayor. Sorry about my spelling its bad. But I do know dollers. And I would not invest in Maringouin.

Lucky you I was out of power for a week. Plus wecould not get no vehicle out for days due to a tree down. But again i did not get no free money. I got a lone and bought anoter place. Road home wants to buy the property. I did have damage but not enough for fema to give me anything. But there are others that have and i've been told that they are having the same prodlem in getting there copy of there account. By law they are required to subment to you upon writen request.
Which thay have not. Even wiyh a certified letter.
And like I had said, Point Coppee has provided what is needed. But becouse of the conduct of ther actions it will not be left unnoticed.

Hi unknown,
Did you see this piece of news? It sounds like the same program you were talking about.
La. Road Home company fined
The Louisiana Recovery Authority on Tuesday levied a fine of more than $1 million against the contractor in charge of the program to help homeowners relocate or rebuild houses damaged in the 2005 hurricanes.

The state government entity fined ICF International of Fairfax, Va.,$692,500 for failing to meet a target of 116,000 total Road Home case closings by June 30. The company was also fined $356,879 for failure to meet other performance measures, according to a prepared statement released by the Louisiana Recovery Authority.

ICF was hired to run the state program, which is called The Road Home.

The company’s contract with the state required ICF to close and distribute money in a specific number of cases.

ICF reported closing 114,615 claims as of June 30, which was 105 weeks after the recovery program began. Under the terms of the contract, ICF is required to pay $500 for each of the 1,385 unclosed claims short of the 116,000 benchmark.

The fine will be subtracted from the payment of the company’s next invoice, said Christina Stephens, the Louisiana Recovery Authority press secretary.
