Like T. Carter, I've shopped at "WallyWorld" in America. Each Wal-Mart has been a clean, friendly store, run by pleasant people and stocked with decent merchandise. The food had Costco prices without the need to purchase in car-load lots. All in all, nice stores.

Then there is the Wal-Mart on Normandy and 190th. Like most ghetto establishments, it is dirty, bad smelling with untrained and unpleasant staff. One trip into the store was enough, I won't bother to go back.

In fact the California stores, don't seem to be of the same quality level as those in America. I suspect that's a "feature" of our "third world" government, not the chain in general.

I hope you get Your Wal Mart in Torrance, then maybe They can make Torrance a town of destitution like every other city they opened a store. If any town deserves it its Torrance.

The few Walmarts I've seen in other parts of the country are just as trashy as the one on 190th is. They're not nice stores and they do not treat their employees well either. They under cut competitors and eventually the smaller stores cannot compete. We certainly do not need a Super Walmart in this area. If you get the Walmart urge, just shop at Sam's Club!

Sure, you can have your low prices. But just know that we taxpayers end up paying anyway when their low paid employees have to go on food stamps and other forms of government assistance.

Sounds like the union has there reps and brainwashed peps watching for Walmart stories. We did not here this when they were putting in the big KMart stores in the 80's.

RE: More Than Just A Placebo

In other words, just "Believe".
Don't let the facts or the evidence get in the way.
Many people make a darn good living from this "feel good" scam.
People should not be spending their hard earned $$ feeding this lie.
Tell the truth and don't deceive people who are in need of help.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Pisces

Why not plan go back to school? Choose to study a subject that will change your direction in life. You may be limited in the short term, but overall it will be worth your while. You will be emotional about money matters if you let cash slip through your fingers, but a romantic evening of cultural pursuits will restore your soul.
