... and funny how Charles Seaborn, the rich white guy that killed Daniel Vasquez while driving drunk, then ran off to hide with Daniel's bike stuck in the grill of his Land Rover, got only 5 years - even though it wasn't the first time he'd been caught driving under the influence.

If you want a message to be heard by all, it has to LOUD!!! So if Calif. wants to send a message to all prospective drunk drivers here in oour state, then that "LOUD" message has to have meaning.

That message and meaning should be that if you are arrested for drunk driving, you go to jail for "FIVE YEARS". In order to get the peoples attention, the penalty has to be sever, otherwise the drunks are going to continue killing innocent people. Maybe the penalty should be worse than five years. What ever it needs to be is not there yet!!!

So how DOES the District Attorney justify giving Seaborne a plea deal for 5 YEARS when he had priors for DUI and showed little remorse???

And then they turn around and go for it all against the Asian lady who had NO priors and seemed extremely sorry for what she did???

Can someone explain this??? Because if you just look at it, it seems really really wrong.

Harsh sentences for DUI deaths is fine, but make it FAIR and please, it had better NOT be race or $$ based!!!!

Allow me to clairify myself. I mean that the very first conviction for DUI without injury to others should be very sever. Of course, if injurys were involved, it would call for a much stiffer sentence, and then go UP from there. I don't care what your status is in your community, State or Nation, if your convicted of DUI, away you go. No exceptions, "NO" considerations for race, money or who you know. Will that ever happen??? Your guess is as good as mine.

unfortunately someone has to past before remorse sets in. I feel for both parties involve but at the end of the day, you are responsible for your own actions. Hopefully Ms. Nguyen can take this as a lesson in life and open doors for her as some kind of mission to help others to understand the consequences that comes when you decide to drive under the influence. Take this life experience and help educate others to think twice before putting that key in the ignition.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
