I don't believe children should have access to internet as a result of this "bullying". Not at all. As far as at school it should be the teachers responsibility to monitor students and if a situation happens while on there watch they should equally be held liable. I sometimes wander if "Bullying" is a pathetic excuse for "Bad-behavior". For both party's involved. A child doesn't just one day wake up and decide to kill someone of thereself this thought stews over time until they finally snap. How may of these kids have a good homelife? Do they feel excepted? parents should be involved with there kids and also if a problem is raised do your best to fix it. Even if it does mean moving to another district. Arn't your children worth that?

My condolences to the family. What a sad story didn't you see any signs something was wrong?

I think it's sad kids are bullied. It's even sadder that they have parents that allow these kids to have access to internet. It is poison for children. I believe since the Ipod,Ipad, and Internet child suicide is the result. You wouldn't send children to college because they are not able to process that kind of information and so it is with internet. How long was this child bullied online? where were the parents? It's sad that children have more now than any generation before them and it's not good enough for them. I believe these children suffer from low self esteem because of what they are subject to or lack there of. Instead of letting your kids have access to electronics why not take them to church instead or have them help a neighbor. Have them do good hard work that's bennificial instead of playing online poisoning there brains.
School is another story if the kids is being bullied let them attend another school. Isn't your child worth that much?
Everyone at some point in there life is BULLIED. You will never fix that problem but what people can do is teach there children it doesn't matter what others think. Kids these days have no selfworth or respect. If they did they wouldn't commit murder/suicide and blame it on being bullied. It's Columbia I'm sure there is some other underlying issue other than the "ALLEGED BULLYING" Pray for the children and there parents.
PErhaps parents should do an expeirment cut kids off all TV, Computer and electrics and see if that doesn't drop the sucide rate

Dr. Martin, if this allegation is true what have you done if anything to better the situation and help this little girl? I don't condone any kind of drug use either. If it is true about her father he'll have to live with that. That's a harsh thing to say about someone who's just lost there daughter. True or not. Really how would you know this unless you were buying the stuff from him?

I think I knew this little girl, her name was Jasmine and her uncle lives near me and she would play with my kids. I had to tell my kids today about their playmate. This is such a sad story.
