Theres nothing in Marietta besides some redneck bars that I would avoid, unless you enjoy fighting. My advise to you is enjoy your hotel room television until you leave.

Try Marietta Brewery and it's not a redneck bar!

There's the Marietta Adventure Company on 2nd street to rent kayaks and bikes, they also do river tours. There's Hidden Marietta, a tour company that does tours of downtown and ghost trek tours. There are also museums (Campus Martius, Toy and Doll) and many mom and pop type shops downtown and just over the old train bridge into Harmar Village that provide great shopping even if it is of the window variety. And of course there are some great local places to eat in town. I personally recommend the Buckley House on Front St. just past the Putnam St. bridge. They're somewhat expensive, but the service and food is worth it. Some other great places to eat are The Galley, which is also a bar and connected to the Adelphia Music Hall. The Levee House offers some history and a riverfront location. Austyn's on front street, know them by their purple awnings. Harmar Tavern across the train bridge into Harmar Village is known for their fried bologna sandwich and is right next door to Spagna's a mom and pop Italian restaurant. There's lots to see and do in Marietta. Check out the Marietta, OH Convention and Visitor's Bureau website for other happenings, they really stay on top of it in this town and often have things going on downtown. And next time you're in town, stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, they're the newest hotel in town and I have the pleasure of working there and as you can see we are very helpful!
