How is he the victim?
He is the one who wanted the whole entire thing, he was the one who wanted to marry the girl and asked her mother for her hand in marriage. If that means hes the victim, then somehting is messed up.

Lets see, Parkman wants his case dismissed because he says that he was never taught in school as a teacher that he should not have sexual relations with his students.(Not to mention that he is married and has children. I guess wedding vows dont mean anything to him.)
Then he moved from Texas to GA and he didnt read the terms of his GA teaching certificate which is under GA State laws. Which clearly defines that teachers should not have sexual relations with his students.
Then he accepted his job with Cobb County Schools as a teacher at Harrison High School, I guess he never knew he was suppose to not have sexual relations with his students at Harrison.
Lets read the fine print and see how vague it is. Parkman claims the laws are vague and doesnt say what is included or excluded in sexual relationships between students and teachers.
Sexual Harassment Rules GBAA 5/14/08
RATIONALE/OBJECTIVE: Sexual harassment is unlawful under federal law and is specifically prohibited by the Cobb County Board of Education (Board) and will not be tolerated against students or employees.
1. Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when:
a. Such conduct unreasonably interferes with an employee's performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment;
b. Submission to such conduct is made a term or condition of an individual's employment; or
c. Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an employee is used as a basis for employment decisions affecting the individual.
2. Examples: Examples of prohibited conduct include, but are not limited to,:
a. Offensive or unwelcome sexual advances or propositions;
b. Any unwelcomed intentional touching of intimate body areas;
c. Employees dating students;
d. Verbal abuse of a sexual nature;
e. Graphic or degrading verbal comments about an individual or his/her physical attributes;
f. The display of sexually suggestive objects, pictures, cards or letters;
g. Lewd or suggestive comments or gestures, off-color language or jokes of a sexual nature.
3. Occurrence: Sexual harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to, the following:
a. The victim as well as the harasser can be male or female. The victim does not have to be of the opposite sex.
b. The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, an agent of the employer, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, a subordinate, or a non-employee.
c. The victim does not have to be the person harassed but can be directly affected by the offensive conduct.

I guess the fact that Cobb County requires teachers every year to review the Sexual Harassment policy and take a training class and acknowledge that they have read and understand the policy doesnt count either.

What planet is this guy on?

I guess Parkman has deep pockets to hire Noah Pines from Ross & Pines to make this excuse up to try and get him off and drag this trial out for a while.

Unfortunaley, the GA law says if he is found guilty by the court, he will spend a minimum of 10 years in prison,(5 years prison and 5 years probabtion) with a maximum of 30 years.(15 years prison and 15 years probabtion.)

The reality that he faces is that Parkman will be a registered sexual offender his entire life and will never be able to hold a teaching certifcate ever again.(ALL 50 STATES)

I hope while he is in prison, he gets the therapy help he needs and never thinks about doing this again.

If Parkman was unhappy in his marriage and he felt like he needed to have an affair, you better look for an adult (21 years old +) and leave the students alone!!

Next time, get a therapist to talk with and deal with your marriage issues and students are protected by the law!! DONT EVEN GO THERE!!!

He should change his name to Debra Lavre, dye his hair blonde, get a sex change, and get everyone to say he's beautiful. That would probably get the perv a reduce sentence. Something like home probation.

Obviously thats a joke. This guy got weak, and he's going to pay for it.

I have to admit, when I drive past some high schools now, I'm amazed how the only difference between what a 25 and 16 year old is the age. They both dress the same....and fit their britney lowriding riding jeans the same way.

But what MAN would allow himself to get pulled in by a 17 year old. Thats a weakness.

the sad thing is, the girl never was attracted to him. It was Steven who wanted the relationship with the 2 girls in the first place

Yea, he was going to strip clubs and surfing porn sites, you think he could have found some adult woman to hook-up with vs trolling the high school for young students. You got to be sick to do this crap.

To think that society can let sickos like that run lose and never face a consquence is WRONG. I would be ashamed to do try and have the case dismissed. You need to FacetheMusic and take your punishment, get the professional help you need and stay away from any woman less than 21 years old. Best advice is to stick with your wife, any woman that can forgive you for what you have done is AMAZING. You better realize what you have and snap out of it!! Turn to GOD!!! JESUS SAVES!!!

We all know that Both Steven and the girl read this. So i would like to say this. Parkman is an Idiot, what he did is wrong, and he knows it. He manipulated and used a girl when she was at a low. He knew it was wrong, that is why he drank a bottle of wine EVERY single night before he went to sleep. He knew it was wrong, but he still did it. Of course everyone sees him before as this wonderful man, but if he is so wonderful then why in earth did he do this? The question no longer is IF he did it, it is why he did it? That is the question he needs to answer now. Next to the girl. She has to live the rest of her life with this, and of course over coming the confusion and pain she had is going to be hard. But she has to accept that what she did at first was wrong, but telling someone was right. So many post on here go on about how terrible she was. But how many people everyday are getting a abused or mishandled or treated wrong? Clearly with watching the news alot of teachers are doing what parkman did. Most of them get caught, not alot are told on. What she did was brave, and what alot of people should do when in that situation. But, i have to say that both must admit that they were wrong, accept it. and get over it. And work to be better people than what they were before. Any of the other people on where who feel like they have to put there opions on either or are wrong. Until they have gone through what both of these two people have.

I'm disgusted when I walk into the orchestra room, knowing what they did still lies inside of there.

Poor new teacher, having to clean up all that mess in there, and having to deal with it everyday in class. They'll have to hear about Parkman probably for the next five years.

If Parkman was really sorry and he was really repenting from this horrible mistake he made, then he would not be asking the court to dismiss the case or try to challenge the "constitutionality" of the law he clearly broke.

At the end of the day, he sounds like any other low life creep who tries to blame others, wonít accept responsibility of his own actions, looks for an excuse or loop hole to not face the consequences of his actions and spend a bunch of money with an attorney who loves to bill at $350 hour.

However, when the music finally stops in the courtroom, Parkman will face a minimum 10 year sentence - 5 years in prison with a bunch of bi-sexual jail mates and 5 years probation wearing an ankle bracelet if the jail buddies donít kill him while in prison.

If he pisses off the DA, Judge, and Jury, he could face a maximum 30 year sentence - 15 years in prison and 15 years probation.

Maybe Christopher Nicklis can hire Steve Parkman's lawyer and get his case dismissed.

I can't believe another male teacher at Harrison made the same mistake when he has watched first hand the consequences of Mr. Parkman's poor choices last year. My daughter adored Mr. Nicklis when she was in his homeroom. I have to say that I am shocked. I would have thought he would have been smarter than this. Getting caught doing what he did is inevitable. Next thing we'll hear is that he is being charged with either statutory rape or sexual assault on a minor. I really do feel sorry for him and for his family. Be sure your sins will find you out...

Yes, I do feel sorry for him. Just like all of us when we are caught doing something wrong, we wish that we could turn back time and make things right. I can guarantee you that he regrets what he did.
