This is a good man and a very good Chief of Police. He should be given the benifit of the doubt. I would'nt trust any opinions as to the presents of alcohol as a possible factor. A lot of people have wanted to cause this man problems due to his sterness as a police officer. He's already retired from the Marietta Police Department and in all likely hood getting close to retirement at Kennesaw. He has done more good than bad. Let him retire with dignity and peace. Regardless of what has been said, You are still one of the best that I have met. I wish you well.I worked under your command for several years, and i learned a lot. I respected you then and i still have that high degree of respect for you now.

just a matter of time before the city grew a set to get rid of the raging alcoholic who continually had alcohol related accidents. Kennesaw should be grateful he didn't kill anyone. The Tim Callahan moto is do as I say, not as I do. Now maybe they'll clean house by getting rid of Billy boy and hiring a competant leader that gives a damn about his officers and can make a decision with the Billy Westenberger tap dance we've all seen to often. Oh yeah, take that sorry useless POS Steve Kennedy with you.

I have determined through reading your mesage that you are a member of the Marietta Police Department. Your message is laced with the ignorance that leads to wrongful death suites and drug dealing within your department.

You evidentally don't have a clue either. For one you have no idea where I work and I have seen the acts of Tim Callahan first hand for several years. So if somebody as IGNORANT as youcondonescover ups, you just as sorry.

My child was recently stopped by a Kennesaw officer for speeding.(Doing 30 in a 25 mile zone).
Upon checking her licenses, they found her name on licenses and social security number were not exactly the same.(Due to marriage 13 yrs. ago). First name had been left off and married name added. She was handcuffed and transported to jail, booked and posted a $l050 cash bond. She had her 4 year old daughter with her and was given 2 minutes to have someone pick up her daughter and car or the child would be turned over to DFAC. Luckly, her husband was within 2 miles and able to get there. She is a professional and works for a local bank. Was it really necessary for this? Or was it a waste of tax-payer money? Maybe Kennesaw needs a completely new force. Or at least policemen who do not need a back up when they stop a young mother with her child. And, by the way, she was fined 500.00 when she went before the judge. A little high for a speeding ticket, don't you think.

Seeing the "MOTHER" post, I thought I would post about my recent experience w/ Kennesaw's finest. I was also stopped when traveling on the access road behind Wal-greens (Pine Mtn). I was leaving Wal-greens and was stopped because I was traveling on a road that said "NO THRU TRAFFIC". When I tried to explain my route that I was taking, I was asked if I was getting "SMART". The charge later came back as my licenses were suspended (NOT TRUE ACCORDING TO DDS - THEY WERE INVALID WHICH HAPPENS TO BE A LESSER SENTENCE) due to SSN Verification and I was charged (wrongfully accussed) of being on my cell phone. I was also transported to jail. The officer told me that it was my lucky day and that I need to have someone to get my car w/in minutes. Lucky day, huh? I did ask the office to NOT be so rude to me. This officer - exmarine and heavy northern accent - said "Ma'am I'm not being rude, I have to put food on my table for my family". Whatever that means -- possibly the officer gets credit for writing bogus tickets. At any rate, the Kennesaw police have reputation of NOT protecting the community.......they love to harrass them. I had no idea that my license were invalid. I do think the Police Chief needs to educate his officers a little better so that they know the difference b/n suspended vs. invalid. My court date is pending. I'm not happy to see the "MOTHER" comment though - doesn't sound hopefuly.

As long as you live in the beautiful Cobb County government, you will see plenty of unfairness and law breaking by these small town police departments. It will take a revolution to stop it and I don't want to be gunned down. The best thing you can do is move away from Cobb County and make sure you don't move into another county just like it. Try moving out of the state like to Tenn. or Alabama

Most Acworth, Kennesaw,( Cobb County) police are corrupt. They think that they are above the law because they have little bit of power. They are mostly govt educated that is why they don't use common sense. They will even kill each other and get away with it. Look at the cop that drowned recently, his partner lied and he got suspension with pay? I bet you this guys were dealing drugs to support their vices.I respect this guys if they are out there protecting citizens, but if they are out setting trap and issuing tickets, I have no respect for them, they are just tax collectors to me. If you guys want to be respected, you have to earn it. You cannot demand respect!

OBEY AND DON"T PAY - That is why everyone has a court date. Even though it is an inconvenience to the accused, you should always defend yourself in court, not at the pay window. If you pay a fine instead of asking for your day in court then you are feeding the monster that you all act so disgruntled about. Educate yourself on the law and don't use the excuse "I did not know". I enjoy going to court when I cite someone because I have the facts to base my charges on.
If you are here to just complain then forget about those three little numbers "911" the next time trouble knocks at your door. Police Officers are human beings and selected from the populous. Yes there will always be bad officers as they are bad people, but MOST try to do the right thing for YOU the general public. Look at waht they do in reference to their pay. Heck our pay as I am a Cobb Police Officer. When we catch ours on the wrong side we get rid of them or they get rid of themselves.
We serve and Protect our community and I believe we do a damn fine job. As for the general public, try slowing down a bit on our roads. Be a more courteous driver and not a road hog. Quit staying in bed until the last minute and then get into a race to work. make an attempt to be a part of the solution and not part of the problem. I have been a resident of Cobb County since 1968. I like it here. As for you SB I hope you are gone from this great place and hopefully out of this country so you can get a taste of the other side.

I was pulled over the police Jan. 4 they inappropriately searched my wife and felt up her skirt and shirt looking for I don't know what. I tried to Report it and nothing happened. I'm sure there are great cops out there, but most cops that are out there want to increase revenue and make more money, ( just because they work over 40 hours a week and only make about 38 grand a year) they are scumbags, pieces of this, in there stupid little cops cars probably getting fatter because they don't' do this all day, fuck cops I've had it. I am a successful and educated 35 year old man, there is no reason to strip search my wife pretty much, it happened near the KSU campus, the cop was short and fat, so if you see her be very careful because shes a fat lesbian that likes to search people's wifes.

I just wrecked my car because a Cobb County police officer was passing on a blind curve and forced me off the road. His buddy wrote the accident report. From an insurance standpoint, I should have let the officer hit me head-on. Since there was no contact between the vehicles I have to pay for this myself. The only thing that is going through my mind is "What if my 16 year old son had been driving?" I doubt he would have been able to avoid a collision. These jerks seem to think the rules don't apply to them. I have to think they do more harm than good.

On April 5th, 2010 on Jiles Road while doing 38 mph in a 35 mph zone, I was stopped by a motorcycle police officer. I intially thought he was after the blond in front of me that was speeding but that was not the case. I pulled over with my 6 year old grandson, his 7 year old friend, three foster children ages 11,12 and 16 (the 16 year old being a white female). He said,"are you in a hurry?' I said, no, I was not speeding. He said that I was doing 58 in a 35 and I said no I was not because I saw you from the hill. He said look at this and nothing was on the radar gun for any of us to see but I'm fined 180 anyway. How fair is that for law abiding, social security recipients trying to help raise Cobb County's abused and neglected childred?

The kennesaw police are out of control, they will give out a ticket for just about anything. They pull people over every day in front of the u-haul center where i work on cobb pky, quite often they block the entrance to our center. On one ocassion one of the other employes coming to work went around two parked police cars to gain entrance to the center and was followed into the parking lot by the second cruiser and recieved a $450 ticket for not moving over. I understand that there is a law stating that you need to move over a lane and i agree with it as it is dangerous for police officers out there however sometimes theese officers need to use just a little common sense and not be complete idiots.

I noticed that no one will give their real name. I guess they don't have the balls. I know there are good cops and cops who I have no idea how they got onto the force. I am a firm believer that any cop that abuses his badge NOT IN SERIOUS SITUATIONS WHERE LIFE AND LIMB ARE AT STAKE, should be fired and prosecuted under a new special law made just for those so called "pigs". We need good cops who exercise professional judgment and we don't need politically connected corrupt cops with bad attitudes toward their fellow citizen. I have heard for years that Cobb County has a bad reputation. I think its time we change for the better cop and let some other county have the bad reputation. I have been living in Cobb County for 47 years and traveled all over the US and I have visited many countries in Eurpoe, stayed in Canada for 6 months and visited at least 10 other countries including Mexico. There are worst places, yes. I have big expectations for my hometown of Cobb County Georgia. This is America and I expect a little more Middle Tennessee, North Georgia and Northwestern Alabama hospitality. Many of these areas the cops waive at you with sincere friendliness. Nevertheless, things do seem they may be getting better here in Cobb County, but this county has a long way to go to get rid of its stereotype reputation.

I was stopped back in June 2012 by a kennesaw police officer. After following me out of the electric cowboys parking lot amd up McCollum Parkway. He pulled me over at 130am and asked me if I knew why he pulled me over at and I said no. He said for not maintaining my lane. Then asked how much I had to drink. Then incorrectly gave me a field sobriety test. And said I failed and was being arrested for dui. So he put me in car and drove recklessly with me in back to the jail. Then I bailed out and got a lawyer. Richard Blevins rhe best dui lawyer around. We watched the video. Not only did I maintain my lane and at no point was I veering one way or the other. But when I got out. I was sober and looked great on kennesaws police video. But it showed he didnt conduct any of the field sobriety tests correctly. And kennesaw judge didnt want to hear it so we bound over to state court and it was dropped after my lawyer and expert talked with district attorney. I wish I hadnt had to spend $4000 to fight something I shouldnt have had to fight. And think Kennesaw should have to pay restituion for it. But ill never see that money. Not all cops are bad. I jave many police officer friends in Cobb, Marietta and Atlanta. I am applying now that my case is over to the Police departments to see which I will go to. To all the great officers out there keeping us safe I say thank you for your public service. To the others that need to change or turn in their badge or be fire karma will get you and remember there is someone bigger watching that sees all. His name is God and there will be a day of judgement by him and or a judge down here when your caught. Its only time.
