If you consider the area that lies ADJACENT to Atlantic Station, you would realize that black and mixed neighborhoods worth $150-$200K (like the series that ran up and down Northside Drive) were all renovated, and luxury condos were built in its place. Not to metion the development of completely upscale restaurants and mini malls strips that forced the value of the surrpunding properties to go up, that the original inhabitants could no longer afford. Since apparently, you are only familiar with the steel mills that became the atlantic station parking garages..LOL..I'll move to another area. Let's consider just EAST of downtown - Hosea J Williams Ave, Moreland, etc. If you're brave enough, ride through the area. Then come back and tell us how a little shack, not bigger than a 1 bedroom apartment now sells for $250K -(oh and since you are a non-believer, there are signs advertising everywhere) and the official claim is that these grounds are being renovated at higher costs since they are on 'historical confederate ground'. Trying to keep whites out? Ha! Even the whites who lived in little five points PROTESTED against the atlantic station development, because they were also now unable to keep up with the living expenses and were being pushed out farther into the suburbs. Even the white had been victims of gentrification in this area just a few years back when Virginia Highlands arose. DUH As for you previous comments, you didn't have any questions to answer. You just made a bunch of incorrect statements that I didnt feel like rebutting. Sure in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was difficult for whites, as well as blacks to earn an education. I haven't argued that FACT. But the FACT is, there were dozens, hell tens of dozens of whites that were able to matriculate an education as compared to low numbers of blacks that still couldn't even read and write (due to no fault of their own). Your account of Jim Crow Laws is VERY misleading. -Firstly, Jim Crow laws mandated de jure segregation in all public facilities, with a supposedly "separate but equal" status for black Americans and members of other non-white racial groups. In reality, this led to treatment and accommodations that were usually inferior to those provided for white Americans, systematizing a number of economic, educational and social disadvantages. Some examples of Jim Crow laws are the segregation of public schools, public places and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms and restaurants for whites and blacks. These Jim Crow Laws were separate from the 1800-66 Black Codes, which had also restricted the civil rights and civil liberties of African Americans. State-sponsored school segregation was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States in 1954 in Brown v. Board of Education. Generally, the remaining Jim Crow laws were overruled by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It never fails me that a racist's concept of fairness is always skewed in his favor.

LOL What makes me a profound person is that, I can debate without relapsing into a fetal position (name calling while thumbsucking) I have an education -(no need to rely on force fed biased statistics) I am employed and very satisfied I believe in humanity and balance. Not hate, regret, and resentment. I live away from Cumming (and you had the nerve to say there is no racial tension there - of course not when the population is 97% white. LOL. That's like me saying I won a race but was the only runner..LOLOLOLOL)
